Recently put together a BSG group which everyone is invited to, and figured it was about time I put together a Viper! This is model of the 1978 version from the original series.

Nice one! Gives one that nostalgic feeling. And in reply to your comment on mine: I'm only semi-back, but yeah I'm back ;). |

Quoting The Pied Pauper $
I have always loved the original BSG, maybe because it satisfied my sci-fi cravings after SW in '77. But in any case, this is wonderful and brings back the memories of watching BSG on a T.V. you actually had to get up and turn the knob to change channels! Nice work.
hehe, those were the days! |

Looks really good man! The nose looks a little short to me, maybe because I'm so used to really long-nose fighters from you. Also I found a really nice classic space setup while browsing the pages, figured you might like it: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/234311 |

Hehe, cheers dude, yeh it seems complicated is the only way you can make a decent Mini-fig scale Viper! They are a tricky, but beautiful design to do in Lego! Really glad you like it... |

Not bad! I'm a fan of the old series myself, not of the newer per-version. You did an excellent rendition of this, but isn't the center engine a little low? Keep it up! -Ultra
Hehe, now that you mention it, oops. I was wondering what was bothering me there! And it w ould have been easy to fix. I might just have to adjust that a repost a couple pics! Cheers dude. |

Holy colonial vipers Batman this thing looks great! The middle engine should be higher but I can see that wouldn't have worked very well with the building style you used here. This one has your unique spin written all over it. Hmmmm, do I smell a BSG/GAIA crossover in the works? On second thought, maybe it's the exhaust fumes I'm picking up in the air. I can never tell with these things. Tee Hee! |

I was never a "huge" BSG fan (old or new series) but I liked em just fine. One thing I always loved though was the Vipers. Just a sweet design for a ship and you sir, made an excellent rendition! Love it! You got my vote!... oh wait, not the olympics... right. ~ Chris. |

Superb little ship, I think the shape is really nifty and I can totally see it darting through space. I don't really know BSG but I can definitely see the 70's influence in its style. |

I'm not entirely sure the proportions are right, but I have to admire the quality of the build. To minifig scale it's brilliant.
The wing design is just slightly chunky. |

I didn't know how you've made this, but it manages to be accurate AND chibi/cute at the same time, very cool ! Great choice of helmet too !
hehe, yeh this one's a puzzle Crimso, I've got pieces going upside down, sideways, frontways, upways, all over the place really. It's funny, but to make such a simple looking model reasonably acurate and compact takes alot of complications! Thanx for checking it out mate... |

Cheers Firas, yeh it doesn't happen often, but I'm pretty happy with this one. You almost feel sorry for the official Lego designers cos they have to stick to simpler techniques most of the time. Almost! They have the best job in the world! |

Very nice version! (Haven't really seen BSG, but I've seen a few BSG vipers) This is right up there at the top 2 as far as I'm concerned. Interesting techniques too!
Hehe, thanx mate, yeh Mark and 2x4 have both done a mean Viper and I kind of figured their was no point doing one, but I started watching the show again last night and just had to try one. I modelled mine directly from the original series, using a tad of leniency... Glad you like it dude, and give the show a go one day, it rocks - the new series that is... |
