Here it is, the Bubble Car. An unusual vehicle on two wheels, riding like a bike with the comfort of a car. In fact even more, it's like a small living room. The drive-system is truly simple: the rear wheel is driven by an electric motor, and it is also the steering wheel. Riding height is easily adjustable, you lower the rear to get in or out and every-one can park because you can almost drive sideways at the rear. Very few moving parts that can wear out. If they were build in real life I'd like to have one!

Oh Fred, how did you do this? When I was young (about 8 or 9), I literally used to dream about living in such a vehicle on the highway all the time. Although I have to admit that it had four wheels and a hamster cage in the back (for unknown reasons; and sometimes it was a rabbit), I think the resemblance is quite uncanny ;) |

Haha LOL. I had a laugh looking at it the first time. But I notice there are some balancing wheels at the bottom right?
Yeah but they are just for parking, or when you make the turn too sharp ;-)

Fred, great concept buddy. There is something that looks like this on a much smaller scale. It has the outrigger style wheels but only seats 2. Yours is a bit roomier. I love how it squats in the back for passenger ingress/egress. Regards, Eric. |

Hahaha EPIC WIN! LOL. Great car man, this is beyond creative! I think this is my new favourite car from you, it's just sick. A desk with a computer, rotating chairs, a coffee machine, turnable back wheel? That's just amazing! You should make concept cars for the future. Man, if this car was real, i'd drive it anyday - LIKE A BAUS. Awesome MOC man. - NC |

Haha excellent :)
I've got to wonder what kind of cars you own in real life, apart from the 2CV - what with the morgan and now this... we own a 2CV, a morgan, a morgan-styled kit car based on 2CV mechanics, and some bubble cars - though none quite like this one !
I love the funky interior - just needs a lava lamp to complete the picture :)
Some of the characteristics remind me of real bubblecars - maybe somebody out there could make a mix'n'match of them to end up with this...
A funny little french microcar called the Reyonnah can adjust it's height - though in it's case, for a different reason - b doing so, the front wheels retract under the body either for parking or driving through tight spaces.
The Bond Microcar has a front wheel that can turn 90 degrees and therefore can steer really easily, and excels at doing 360s just for the fun of it...
Back to the lego model I just reamlized how simple the build actually is; very few parts - yet it's so cool, and fully functional - just like the principles behind real bubblecars - as is the comparison between motorcycle mechanics (or more often, motorcycle tax and insurance - which is cheaper) with car comfort.
Great job :)
