VDS now grants the Armored Patrol Vehicle to defense interests. The APV is a light MRAP that falls in-between the Category I and Category II guidelines. Fitted with a 12.7mm CROWS atop the vehicle, the APV is able to suppress targets and demoralize those wishing to engage the vehicle. The vehicle has enough room to accommodate three men inside and their gear in the rear storage area. The communications package is quite similar to the LASV (Light Armored Support Vehicle) and can thus transmit data over a large distance. Thus bringing the topic of role into account, the APV is adept to perform reconnaissance, patrols, and fire support to squad-based units. The Armored Patrol Vehicle is often favored by its crews for the sheer fact that it's an effective vehicle with a small logistical footprint.
About this creation
An APV scaled with a naval infantryman.
An APV supporting a 203mm Heavy Field Gun (HFG).
The 203mm Heavy Field Gun is a specialized artillery piece made-to-order. It has an automated loading assist that enables greater firing rates. The crew size only numbers three minimum, but often features four in-field.

This is really a sweet ride. Looks a little like the Panhard VBL. It's one of the best looking small armored cars ever made. Yours looks like it is far more capable with its heavier armor and greater firepower. Great build. Regards, Eric. |

It'll be awhile or so before that happens. Evan's off doing his own thing this week. And of course I don't use my own account; which means I'm not touching Flickr. |

I now fully understand the use of such vehicles. This is excellent, should be especially useful in the patrol role. Beautiful beast too, I just love the shape. |

"naval infantryman"? Oh man, don't let a Marine hear you call them that, they get all touchy. :-) |

A truely epic jeep and the sort of thing that I usually aspire to build and I certainly do, it reminds me of the russian infantry transport from BFBC2 actaully. |

That sword makes a helluva hood ornament
I suppose it does. In all reality, I meant it to serve as wire-cutter similar to the one on the French VBL.
