MocOlympics Round 2 Group 1A LL vs Jason Corlett
The Crescent Moon Assault Frigate/oil rig
About this creation
Hello my good friends, my category is Top Ten and I'm up against Jason Corlett and his entry .

This is for the MOColympics Round 2 and I'm in group 1A.

This category was extremely hard, so after about 10 failed attempts, I made a transforming assault cruiser that has VTOL capabilities and can function as an oil rig on foreign planets.

Here is the Crescent Moon in its normal form. The docking bays are the minifig hands.

The bridge is the trans-black cheese piece.

Here is the cruiser in assault form.

Here is the Crescent Moon gathering oil from a planet, the two long "horns" are for stability while the actual drilling takes place under the bionicle armor piece.

Here's a picture of the rig on a plain background.

It's exactly ten pieces.

That's all for now~

Congrats to Jason on the win, we got stuck with the most difficult category. I'll get him next year ;-)

Nice idea going with more rare parts. This is an extremely difficult category. Good luck with the other judges.

I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one struggling with this one. You did really well with it though! I love how you managed to get ten pieces to transform. Well done! Good luck to you, sir!

Building a moc with just ten pieces is a pretty tall order, but you pulled it off splendidly! Great concept with the transformation and your overall parts usuage was just great! Man this one was close. I'm sorry to say that Jason's just (and I mean JUST) beat you out in my opinion. Don't get down just yet though. The other judges still have to weigh in and I'm tellin ya, this was like a 9.8 against his 10.0. Good luck with the other judges! ~ Chris.

Wow! I'm a big Corlett fan, but I think this beats his. The transforming idea is brilliant!

Yours and Jason's match up was one of the ones I was most interested to see the outcome of, this round. Good luck!
