MocOlympics Round 2 Group (group 2) (CJ) vs (Caleb McCoy)
About this creation
This is my round two entry for the 2010 MocOlympics. My opponent is Caleb McCoy The category I was assigned was star wars short story. I am not much of a story teller so please bear with me. My view on this is that it is a lego contest not a creative writing contest but again I will try so bear with me. My story is told from in the first person as commander Bacara after order 66.

Mygeeto is a frozen ridged planet. It rarely gets above -20 degrees C. The battles are harsh and many galactic marines have fallen, many UT-ATs have been destroyed and many walkers have fallen off the bridges completely. The only things lost are not only the lives of men but their hope is lost as well. General Ki Adi Mundi was a great military leader and had close friendships with many marines, but my men follow orders unconditionally. We are almost out of ammunition and have no more heavy ground support. There is a supply ship on the other side of a five mile bridge with a lot of droids in our way.

> We fight through the first three miles of droids things are going well. There are only a few casualties and we are making good time.

> Suddenly the bridge explodes and I feel a force with intense heat that knocks me off my balance I feel the sensation of falling and then hit my head.

Luckily a couple of stranded galactic marines found me and help me up from the rubble.
> They say they have a temporary shelter and show me inside.

When I get inside I realize their temporary shelter is an entrance to part of the mygeeto tunnel system. The far wall of the tunnel is made of ice.

I order one of the marines to melt the ice and see that behind it is a metal door. After a while of trying different codes we hack in with a portable computer.

We walk down the tunnel for what seems like forever and finally get to a supply room. The room has what looks like an old elevator cable. We climb up.

We later come to a ventalation shaft and walk towards the light at the end.

We see Wat Tambor and some other seperatists.

we jump down and have Wat Tambor trapped. But lose one marine.

Sorry if you felt the category didn't give you the chance to express yourself in a "building" contest. Nice LEGO FX, but overall your opponent's build was more detailed, while yours showed some rushing. I vote for him. (just a thought: criticizing the event organization RIGHT BEFORE judging? Many could object about the wisdom in that)

Nice variety of shots (with some overhead pics, and the one right behind the trooper as he's crawling). Not bad on the story, but I would've liked seeing a bit more of a climax as the events played out. All in all, I've decided to cast my vote for your opponent. His build was a bit more detailed, and the story-telling, while not very climactic either, had some good dialog and humor. A nice entry, though!
