A day at the beach. MOC Olympics, Round two: yeah baby!
About this creation

At first I was thinking: Oh boy, what a crappy theme. This really can't get any worse (except HALO maybe ;)). I mean: sand? I hate it. But then my son came up with an idea...Of course a beach is boring but it 's what lays underneath that brings in the fun! So there you have it!
As this is a beach theme, I wanted to do this the "Ocean" way. I'm not gonna tell to many stories, and let the pics do the talking. As in the immortal words of K. Goldman: You control the action!

The front of the beach thing.

The crappy back. My basic yellow and bleu went in to this, all of it. Everything with a straight side was in the game.

All there is to do on a beach is making sand castles,

and tanning...

but there's more than meets the eye.
No this isn't Bones. It's his grandfather.

WW II ammo.

"Say what? Landmines?? On the beach?! Yeah sure, I'll be carefull! Thanks for lettin' me know!"

Things that, for some strange reason, can get lost in the sand.

A fossilised Legosaur!

On to the action on the water. I don't have Lego skee's, this is the closest studless thing I could come up with.

The boat and skee 'r are connected with an iron wire. I tried Lego wire but it went all curly wibly wobly and... ahum, oh well, next pic...

Underwater action. My kinda stuff!

Barrels of toxic waste, all beaches should have them! My whole stock of pink went into that leak ( there's a joke in this one, I just know it!).

Okky is hungry...

Sealife.
4th wall blabber.
Thanks to my son for his mermaid and his shark. I resisted on attacking his yellows, me good boy now. Credit for his idea too. Much inspiration came from ShannO's vignettes.

Here's an UFO I tried to include at the bottom of the sea, but two things held me back:
1 There's no way you can build round that silhouet.
2 I realised I made some of these before, and that's not allowed to be used.
Let me know what you think, and thanks for stopping by!

This is sweet. I don't know which part I like best?! That toxic waste is a touch of genius! I love that you included a shot of the back of the build also, because with limited bricks all my sets look exactly like that too! Everything with one flat side is used. Congrats on making round 3! |

Love the concept, it was perfectly executed! That's more pink brick than I have, though I always thought of orange or red of green as toxic waste, is it poisoned bubble gum flavoring? Anyway, great MOC, and good luck! |

Great idea and great build. I love the layered look to the beach with the hidden surprises. The pictures aren't terrible, but they could use some work. Awesome build!
The pics, I know. Time and effort would help, but not right now, I mainly concentrate on the build. However, I have a friend that is eiger to help me out... |

Far too much greatness here to spend time listing them. Not only is your son going to pass you in building skill soon, he already has better ideas! LOL Poor Shifu, he's gonna need some lotion for his sore posterior after this whipping!~H |

Gio, lovely Gio, this is FUN. It reminds me of my youth, happily munching on a bowl of cereal while being entertained by whatever was printed on the back of the box (do they do that on Mars?(where you're from)). The way you built this is so cool, it's a feast for the eyes! |

I'm so sorry you did NOT beat Shifu... You DISINTEGRATED him. There's hardly any left to make half a builder after what you did to him... (there was little to spare even before, mind you). In case you're wondering, I'm voting for you. |

I'm not so sure if okky's hungry. Looks to me that okky is trying to caress that lonely diver back to its cave for some lovin' under the sea!
Okay, now for the compliments. This is a fantastic build with the legosaur and buried soldiers, toxic waste and mermaid snack attack. Both you and Master have come up with some great stuff here. You both deserve to advance to R3. |

Excellent! I see why you wanted to put that UFO in there, and I was actually expecting to see one. Reminds me of a Simpson's episode where they did a cross section of ground down to the bottom of a well I think. Anyway, nice work and very creative approach! |
