My entry to Flare's A:DOMINATION contest. Please note: An average day in Chicago is not actually like this. Hopefully.
About this creation
As you can see, this MOC involves a giant spider taking over Chicago, so therefor, it is eligible for the contest.
The civilian's running for cover... Wait, who's that officer in the crowd?
Why, it's our favorite Phipson!
Unlike some officers, the big boss man is fighting off the beast with a big bazooka.
The wrecked police car provides a nice shelter for the officers to shoot from.
What's Hans Dendauw doing here? Look's like he's just back from his local Star Wars convention and wants to show off his ninja moves. Or maybe its just Qui Gon himself. Why do they have to have the same face? They look so similar.
Now for some views of Spidey by himself.
A front view of the mech. Well, actually slightly diagonal, but that doesn't matter. As you can see, the mech was designed to be spider like. Strangely, many components come in a quantity of 8. 8 legs, 8 levers, 8 turrets. Spiders like 8.
Side view. Here, you can see the silk tanks that contain the silk it uses to weave webs (on people). These also supply the 3 front silk guns that shoot sticky silk at his enemies - us humans. (Dun, dun, dun...)
Rear view. This one didn't come out too well, and you can see the folds in the curtain in the background. Well, at least it's better than some people's photos. Anyway, this spider can sort of "fly" with the huge fan serving as it's abdomen. How else would such a heavy hulk of metal weave a huge web? (That was a rhetorical question, so don't answer.)
Top view. There's a little bit of glare because I had to use flash because the pictures in a relatively dark place. (It was the best option- high ISO is grainy, long exposure is blurry, large aperture is out of focus, while flash produces a bit glare.)
You can see the real spider with his controls quite well in this picture.
-The last four pics of spidey by itself were taken by my dad, which is why they turned out so well even it a dark environment.
-Some of these pics are from Brickshelf. See if you can figure out without clicking the links!
-No mini-figures were hurt in the production of this MOC... or were they? (Quickly hides abused, sharpied clones.)
