Humble but hulking, Orabmar was the muscle of his team, and a shrewd businessman.
About this creation
Name: Orabmar Gender: Male Race: Matoran Group The Toa Vanembar Title(s) Brother Element: Magnetism Home: Poliaz Kanohi: Great Rode, Mask of Truth. MOC Status: Disassembled
(Mad World - Gregorian)
As a matoran, Orabmar had never met the other matoran who would become his toa brothers, but for one encounter with Gratigan, who interviewed him following investigation of a theft from his shop. Orabmar ran a shop for sports gear in Upper Poliaz, including things like Kanoka disks, armour and the like. He was good with money, and was a very honest individual - thus never brushing with the seedy/police backgrounds of the other toa Vanembar. He was a baritone singer for Lord Poliaz for a time, and disliked the style employed by Eki and Soleku extremely.
Like all matoran on Poliaz, Orabmar underwent a rebuild by Makuta Raximoras into a bigger, stronger form.
If it wasn't for Xalos' Bone hand, Orabmar would be the most intimidating looking Toa Vanembar. He was gigantic, strong and spoke with a deep, echoing voice. Shunning weaponry, Orabmar focused on his powers, and revelled in the fact that he was one of the few toa of his element existing - although the fact that the rest of his kind had been eliminated by makuta wasn't common knowledge until Reglas, The Earthlord, told him so. He was defensive, armoured heavily, and usually carried most of his team's supplies, using his magnetism powers to negate his increased weightload.
Instead of weapons, Orabmar focused on his environment, pulling random machinery and scrap into action very often. He had large gauntlets to manipulate magnetic fields with. His main weapon was in fact a small pouch he kept in his backpack, which was full of iron filings. He could use these both offensively and defensively. His Kanohi Rode allowed him to see through lies and disguises, which saved the team from many otherwise fatal coups. He was very good at intimidating and interrogating too, and often played the role of "Good Cop" while Xalos was "Bad Cop". Because of his mask, Orabmar saw who Abarium truly was, but did not tell the others, because he trusted Abarium the most out of all the Toa Vanembar.
Orabmar detonated on the island of Stelt after getting shot in the chest by a plasma cannon - one of Ferrum's inventions, used by a Vortixx warrior. He had leapt in front of it to protect Brogas from harm. His spirit embedded itself in the magnetic rock around him, and he was retrieved by the Earthlord shortly afterwards. Thousands of years later, Mata-Nui brought Orabmar back to life on a newly-formed Spherus Magna, and he joined the Knights of Spherus Magna.
Full body shot. Orabmar using a chain to fight with wasn't uncommon.
Back. Backpack. Lunch. XD This design originally comes from Onorekowea.
Another Epic Pose!
Orabmar's body is a toa-sized version of my Ak-Matoran body design, angled. The shoulder armour is from Lurax. It's actually physically the same armour - Lurax had to be scrapped while I was making Orabmar for the dark red pieces - which I eventually didn't use once I learned Magnetism Toa were black and silver >.<
The hand design in an inverted version of Yuri Fassio's Exo-Hand design.
The lower leg design is a combination of my own ideas (front plating) and Shadowgear6335's ankle design.
Orabmar's concept has been knocking around for forever, but this is his first version. I plan to make a matoran form with the same mask (I have two Rodes), and his Spherus Magna form, which will look like a Glatorian.
Very nice, although Toa of Magnetism were actaully black and gun metal. Like you said though, you never really cared much about the color schemes. I just like following them becuase it provides some what of a challenge, that and I also like to stick close to Bionicle canon. By the way, do you still use Custom Bionicles wiki? I was thinking of writing some of my stuff out on their site, but I wanted your opinion first.
Quoting Max Watson
excellent, although toa of magnetism are actually Black and purple.
No, they're black and silver. You're getting Magnetism confused with Gravity. That said, since when have I ever cared about sticking to colour schemes? XD
really awesome moc. the story was pretty cool, and i liked how his spirit goes into some rocks whcih allows to eentually come back to life, that was pretty cool. this moc look pretty epic with its design, and i just noticed that it look like the angled matoron design and a li'l like lurax. great work and can't wait for the rest of the team.
Awesome! You might not see this, but I took your advice and made some changes on Callan. The pictures right now kinda stink, but I would like you to see it.http://mocpages.com/moc.php/215520
