Treadanus Nui
Aka Project Treads
About this creation

Treadanus Nui is a being created in a distant planet by the great beings as a backup plan if something goes wrong with Mata Nui. He was made a great fighter as well as a creator consisting both protodermis and antidermis inside his body. He was made to assist Mata Nui and, if necessary, replace him if something goes terribly wrong. After being created, Treadanus Nui was put to sleep.

His inside was very similar to Mata Nui's and contained no matoran to keep up his system. Treadanus Nui was completely independent. And what came to toa, he had none of them either to protect his inside. Instead of toa, there was just one being in his core for protection. Though, who and what that being is is a mystery.

The proto- and antidermis inside him were tempered to act faster, so it wouldn't take long to create new life. But still, if they started leaking, the consequences are unpredictable. Especially if the protodermis and antidermis were mixed together.

Around 10.000 years after his creation, he was suddenly woken up, by an unknown reason. But the awakening meant to him that he must go help Mata Nui. He blasted off the planet using his own Blue Star, which was inside him as a power source (Mata Nui had red), and headed for Mata Nui.

But when closing on to Mata Nui, a sad accident stroke. A giant comet almost as big as him struck him on the flight. It was an immediate defeat to the nature. He couldn't resist the comet's force and his rib was torn open. The protodermis and antidermis inside him leaked out and covered the comet, creating an unstable sea and new species on the asteroid in time. The Blue Star in his core overpowered and caused a blue glow around the comet, that started circling the sun of Spherus Magna and bypassing the planet nearby once a month.

The conditions on the 'Comet of Treads' were rough. The were hardly plants and a lot of rock. The great speed of the comet tested the strength of all creatures and caused only few species to survive. The noble colossus on the land and various large sea creatures. The heat caused by the high speed of the comet cause the protodermic waters to turn into gas and formed an endless rain on the comet. The rain cooled down the comet enough that the warmth of the air was mild.

Yet Treadanus Nui crash-landed, he wasn't dead. He still lived and swore to find a way for the creatures he created to get to Spherus Magna. The colossus live on this dream every time they pass Spherus Magna. And hope was to arrive...

Now this is my biggest creation of all time, standing 98 cm tall, and weighs around 3kg. I built him for 5 months, starting at the end of March. He was meant to be poseable, which he is, having flexible weist and shoulders, but still his arms were too long to pose and his knees hardly take the weight. I hope you appreciate this enough to make it my most popular moc.

A silly pose I made for him :p Action poses would've been too hard.

Treads(his nickname) was tired after the photoshoot and took a nap after the photoshoot. Sweet dreams.

Me and Treads :) And your first sight at my face :D

Maker's notes:
-My biggest moc yet
-I probably won't be building anything big for a while.
-This is a kickstart for the new species on Comet of Treads, mainly colossus.
-It was horrible to stand him while taking the photos.
-The song is Protectors of the Earth by Two Steps from Hell

Sure do love seeing those Giant MOCs on the pages. No exception, here. Great concept, tough to pull off with straight-limbed structure on that scale. And you definitely have my sympathy and empathy with stability-issues-due-to-weight. I like how you integrated those Skopio treads in the forearms and shins; made for nice greeble. If an old MOC-er's advice means anything to you on the topic of Giants - they work best with solid (stiffer) skeletons, and mostly-hollow limbs draped on that frame (cuts down on weight alot). Still a great MOC, and my compliments!

Building on that Scale's EXHAUSTING, isn't it?!! =P Glad to see there are those out there up to the challenge, though, and I think you've crafted something quite admirable in kind. Particularly like the FRONT of the head and the torso. O.G.R.E. has given me many similar problems with Limb Weight, so you have my sympathy there. I too, will NOT be building anything that Scale again anytime soon, and because a MOC this large eats up alot of resources, he will likely be disassembled soon. Poor fella. Anyhow, CHEERS, and GREAT work!

Quoting Johann Dakitsch Astonishing creation! The proportions and the build are great, the only problem is that there's some misplaced colors in him, like the blues and golds, but, in general, it's really good, congratulations! BTW, what music is this?

Quoting Yuri Fassio Excellent! If you want more poseability, it helps if you build your giant from the endoskeleton out. SMultiple snap joints on the knees will do the trick, then you can simply start adding pistons everywhere needed.
I had 2 click joints from Skopio in both knees and added 2 pistons to both. Apparently wasn't enough :( And anyways, unbuilding and fixing those would've bugged me too much. And now I won't build anything big for a while after this kind of project.

It's almost as tall as Yuri Fassio's Grond V.2, but it's still just as awesome. It's enormous and I love it. The color theme you used was really good, the red and black theme is always a big hit.
