if you want to build ships but dont have the pieces, then heres a good idea, build a crash site for a ship so you dont have to use many pieces, its a really good build. woah, that sounded a bit like an advert :)

mmm the vtol craft seems a little small. I think it needs something to suggest engines, either at the back or underneath. Also there are usually s-foils on something this size, even if they are only stubs, perhaps some side fins or a tail for balance. Some form of wind-shield might help, even if it is only a partial one at the lower part of the cockpit, maybe a motor cycle wind-shield perhaps? it isn't a bad build, it just feels half finished somehow.

The VTOL is just like that right? It looks a bit weird but okay. Not bad.
