third of my new "universe" theme creations in LDD3.0. Much greater control of colours and larger selection of bricks. More to follow....
About this creation
Some time ago I started a series of mech/robot designs I labelled "CyberAgents". The series proved quite popular on LEGO.COM, where several of them were copied without a credit.
Over the last year I've developed my mech style and back in the spring started work on much taller and more articulated versions (many of which I posted here).
An off-shoot of this period was the development of the "ShadowAgents" concept, the idea being these were special operations mechs/robots and therefore were better armed. The style was very much Manga inspired with lots of insect like elements to those early designs.
Limited at the time by the palette on LDD, I was forced to make several compromises in terms of parts and colours. But no more!
I have discovered how to unlock a secret "Universe" theme on LDD, and with it comes thousands of previously hidden bricks and a choice of colours for EVERY PART.
So I revisited my ShadowAgents and came up with INDIGO, a brutal production line warrior. So far there are three distinct incarnations of INDIGO.
INDIGO - Prototype.
The prototype has a basic humanoid shape and is built to be streamlined and agile, however there is a sacrifice of body armour to achieve this. He wields twin spear like weapons which can be combined to form a double bladed javelin like weapon.
INDIGO - 1.5
The 1.5 is slightly heavier than the prototype, to compensate, 5 stabilizers have been added 3 around his waist and two on his back. He is armed with a variant of the "Reaper" weapons from the ShadowForce Scarlett. which can be wielded as two axes or combined to form one double bladed sword.
INDIGO - 2.5
2.5 replaces the left hand of INDIGO with a versatile multi-beam weapon. The weapon can also be used as a port for inserting melee weapons such as swords or as a power booster for other weapons. In addition his body shell has been adapted allowing him to store melee weapons and guns when not in use. He normally carries 3 additional weapons, a semi-automatic machine gun, a two pronged dagger and a short sword. Because of his altered armour design he lacks the gravity stabilizers of the 1.5, however his rear engine design has been adjusted to grant him greater stability and strength.
To commemorate activating the secret "universe" theme in LDD I revisited one of my favourite designs - the ShadowAgents. This the prototype of a new frame based largely on the previous frame ShadowAgent Jade.
