MOCIA 2, pt 7
Rods and poles and sticklike objects, oh my! As a note: this series contains no Russians, no aliens and no deadly deadly robots. Honest.
About this creation
Last round, people finally decided to have a look at those pole things.

Over there. Those.

Anyway, they're both identical.

They're microgravity tools. The idea is that you press a button and the ends magnetize. You just do that while in contact with something metal and you've got a temporary handhold.

Got a bit of heft to it, too. You really wouldn't want to get hit with one.

It also fulfills the role of "ten foot pole"; just ask an RPG player, a ten foot pole is the most important item to carry with you everywhere you go. You can poke suspicious things with it, you can carry it in front of you so you won't die from falling down a pit, among any number of roles. In a pinch, you can hit people with it.

And this space pole? It can scramble unshielded electronics really good.

Of course, there isn't very much in the way of unshielded electronics in space. What with the deadly radiation and all.

Anyway, you've got one of those magic backpacks that can hold a months food, half a mile of rope, three javelins, a pair of longswords and goodness knows what else and still fit through doors. Neutrally bouyant, too, unless the GM has rules for carry weight and drowning. So you'll just put that pole into hammerspace, where it'll stay until you need it.

So, will you:

A: play ninja with your new stick?

B: see if that console has door closing abilies?

C: go out for a walk?

D: panic?

E: make Darth Vader noises with your breathing gear?

You have until the 20th, NZ time.

Now, if you'll excuse me, the script for the upcoming Rogue Faction thing is only a third finished.

Yeah, I've also been looking into a few turned based. Civ 5 looks good, I'll look into that one to. Thanks Areetsa!

Quoting Matthew Novosad Yeah, totally get what your saying. The PC I had been using for a very long time, was EXTREMELY slow. Put it thins way. Every page on the internet would freeze. So I didn't do much gaming. I did however play AOE2, Empire Earth, and Age of Mythology. The latter was the first Real Time/Strategy game I ever played. Been hooked since then. I'm going to be getting Napoleon Total War soon. Hopefully I can run it on reasonable graphics setting, heck even get to the launch menu...
If you can run AOE3 and don't mind turn based, I might recommend the Silent Storm games to you. Vids related: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs_RSRLDCg4, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVZDjNVrp8A It's got a lot of engrish and the voices can get irritating, but it's got an excellent engine behind it.

Quoting Matthew Novosad A comment that has absolutely nothing to do with this: I saw in the group tag part 2 you are a strategy gamer. Same here. Do you play any PC strategy games? Like AO3? Maybe we could play together online? If your parents still aren't so keen on online multiplayer it's fine. I lag a bit anyway (during online). I've been planing on getting an Advance Wars game. Witch one do you recommend? I'd love to have a good conversation with you about strategy and what not.
AO3? If you're talking about Age of Empires 3, eh... well, let's just say the fastest, most powerful computer in the house is a laptop, and it can barely run it. I've actually got a bundle of RTSes, but when Ground Control (the first one) lags on your PC, there's not much point playing it. And, well, I generally lose interest pretty quickly when it takes three seconds for a click to register. Well, the parental restriction thing is more them not wanting me to have friends they don't know; probably worried about me giving out my name or address. Not likely, but eh. Anyway, my connection's pretty poor. It'd be quite possible to run some kind of turn-based PBE thing, though; I've never looked for one so I don't have one on hand at the moment. As for Advance Wars: it'd depend on whatever you can get, but the first one has an extensive tutorial. The second and Dual Strike add units and adjust balance a bit, but Dual Strike has REALLY overpowered CO powers. By that I mean they can completely unbalance a game if you have the wrong mix. Dark Conflict (or Days Of Ruin in America) is pretty good though. Yeah, basically, it depends on what you can find. They're all pretty reasonable.

A: Specifically, stick the stick (heh) across the door on the inside horizontally and jump out, holding onto the stick. Even if the electromagnets fail, the guy will still be saved via the laws of physics.

A. Definitely. Why bother with being serious in a potentially life threatening situation when one can have fun? P.S.: Would you mind if I did a M.O.C.I.A.? Thanks!

Can you imagine the lawsuits a company would get if their gear just let people go flying off into space? There's no way they'd take a chance with something like that.
Quoting Jswish Productions all of the above!

This guy's no good at multitasking.
Quoting Xerxes . E. Then I wanna open that other door....Hopefully no gigantic aliens come out. >_>
Anything big enough to swallow him whole wouldn't be able to fit through that door. Space Interior Design chapter 1: all doorways must be too small for giant monsters to fit through.
