ED - Mocolympics R1 - Eat Lead
For the Eliminatory Round of this year's Mocolympics, it was a Mob Rules type. I recieved the category labeled "Eat Lead". After a few days of brainstorming I finally came up with a descent idea.
About this creation
And here is the all important link to the 2010 Mocolympics home page.

Our story begins in the Wacko Toy Factory in Beijing, China.

It's just like any other toy factory shipped over seas.

The workers are hustling to finish the daily amount on time.

Boxes and crates are shipped out by the minute.

All finished products are recorded manually and onsite.

This is one of the many toy factories in the world where the famous Santa Claus picks up his yearly order just in time for Christmas.

Here we see a delighted little boy on Christmas morning, playing with his new toy car. A car that was made at the Wacko Toy Factory.

His parents watch him as he joyfully pushes it across the floor and makes engine noises.

Then... it happens. The small child pops the wheel off of the chassis and proceeds to EAT IT!!!!!!

The small child rolls on the floor in agony as he is induced with LEAD POISONING!!!!

He quickly begins to morph and change into Jar Jar Binks!

A hideous creature bent on creating a galaxy of...

As this same disaster happens all around the world, concerned and angry parents sue Santa Claus. He is found guilty in a Federal Court and is sentenced to...

A life in jail.

NOTES: You all probably know where I was going with the lead poisoning and the Chinese toy factory. For those of you who don't know, I'll tell you. A couple of years ago in the United States, there were many toys that were recalled because the paint used on them had lead, which is highly dangerous if eaten. These toys were made in China, since many U.S. companies are moving their factories over seas for cheaper labor. It's said that the conditions in these factories aren't very good, so I based my entry around that.

P.S. You can also find the design for the mini dinosaurs here .

The scenery is insane. I couldn't have done all that with what I have. Very nice attention to detail. And your story? Well, it is a bit.... strange once it gets to the jar jar thing.

Hi Evan! I'm really impressed with the amount of thought and detail you put into this and am surprised you didn't get higher scores. My only suggestion would be that the colour scheme on the factory is a bit scattered (like you've mixed old grey with blue grey). I'd have to do the same, I simply don't have the bricks to stick to one colour for a build this size. Sometimes a smaller MOC that looks neater will score more. Of course, the highest scores will go to really big MOCs that also look amazing! Good luck in R2!

A really good entry. The Jar Jar bit with the graffiti was pretty funny and you built some large, nicely detailed sets. Good luck moving on to round 2.~H

I knew where it was going right from the start but that didn't stop me from giggling all the way through. Not a bad entry at all. 6 points! ~ Chris.

Hmm... I do like this overall. The idea of the connection between a chinese toy factory and small children (literally) eating lead is a very creative interpretation of your category, but I think it could have been slightly more subtle. Still, overall this is a good entry, and I hope you make it into the next round.

LOL! The first thing I thought about when I saw the category "Eat Lead" was lead in Chinese toys. Your entry was great. Especially the "Gungans Rule" sign. Good luck with the judges.
