The second of my employee friends to be immortalized in LEGO, Richard 'Dick' Teague.
About this creation
Originally from Massachusetts, Ritchie owns and operates a small farm and flower business with his two brothers, while also working 4 days a week at our restaurant as an all around maintenance guy. We buy his flowers, leeks and various herbs, year round, so it's a very symbiotic relationship. He and I have worked together for 12 years and have become very good friends, sharing a love for sports, comedy and general ball busting. So, when I first got the fire chief head and saw that perfect Irish porn-stache, I had to make him a SigFig. He's a total Chowd; loves the Patriots, Celtics and, of course, the Sox. For anyone who knows the Raiders/Patriots 'tuck-rule' playoff game, I was at his house watching it. *sigh* Anyway, being as LEGO only has NBA gear, I ordered a Paul Pierce jersey and viola! Since Trevor got a snowcat , it was only fair to make SOMETHING for Dick. The tractor was the end result. Then, of course, I had to create a MOC to immortalize it.

A fictitious rendering of Ritchie's garden. I'll let the pics do the talking.

I REALLY wanted to fit a tire fire in there, but alas, no room.

My favorite creation of all, the toilet.

SigHansi: Check it out, honey, it's the largest in captivity!
Fourth Dimension Commentary: Wanted to get these pics done so I could give Ritchie his gift. He's been a great friend over the years and he definitely makes my life easier at work. He has just as sick a sense of humor as any of us and would fit right in with our demented little crowd. His son loves LEGO and I recently gave him a ninja as he was unable to get any of the collector figs. Besides, I keep telling Ritchie that when his boy grows out of 'em, I get 'em! So tell me, does Dick Teague sound like an affliction caused by overuse? I know this post is a bit anticlimactic after my Mech, but you can't win the lottery all the time.~H

As a Celtics fan myself, I do regret not getting those NBA lego figures when I had the chance, especially the Celtics ones. *sigh* This is very well done. The build of the scene is great. ~ Ghostman :) |

What an amazing build and great tribute for a friend. There is some really special details here that are just great. I think your stone wall is a lovely touch and yes indeed that toilet goes far beyond cool! That last pic reminds me of what my cousin's ultimate goal in life is: to touch water before it cuts, not an easy thing to do in NZ toilets as I believe the water is further down than in your American loos. |
