All summer I had been planning on building a 16-wide Enzo. I started one in June, but I didn't like the way it was turning out so I abandoned it for other projects. After building steadily this summer, I revisited it and this is the result. This isn't my first Enzo at this scale; I built one several years ago (it is still in my cars folder), but I never really liked it. My Lego collection and skills have expanded since then, and a remake was long overdue. Hope you enjoy it!
About this creation
I was never a huge fan of the official Lego set, and I never even had it. So as you can see, this is not simply a modification of the official set; it was built completely from scratch the way I think it should have been built. The Enzo has always fascinated me; it is so unique-looking. This made it an interesting and challenging build. In fact, this took longer to build than any other car I've made, at any scale. Along with the Ferrari badge mosaic that accompanies it, this is probably my favorite project that I've made so far.
Unlike my other cars, this one has a solid windshield. At the end of the page I also included some pictures of the car without the solid windshield in place; if you think it looks better without, PLEASE let me know! I like the look of the dark windshield in some pictures, not so much in others, so I had a difficult time deciding whether or not to add it.
This MOC features another of my MOCs, the Ferrari badge mosaic as seen in the main picture of this MOC. If you like it, please check it out on my page; it has its own page with better and close up pictures.
Also, one more disclaimer:
I feel bad, but I wasn't able to add hinges to the doors. I could have always done some kind of gull-wing connection on top, but seeing as that's not how the real car's doors work, I didn't want to do it. In the pictures where the doors are open, they are simply propped open by antennas, if you look closely you can see. I spent many hours trying to add a hinge that would allow the doors to open the right way, however, there seems to be no way to do it without sacrificing the detail of the interior and the door itself, which I did not want to do. So, no door hinge. Sorry!
Some pictures of the car all around:

Engine cover opened up:

The huge V12 engine:

The Doors opened up:

The interior: I like the seats on this one!

Everything open:

Inside the trunk:

The rear diffuser, as seen from underneath:

On display with the Ferrari Badge: Please feel free to check out my page; I have a separate page for the mosaic if you would like more detail on that.

Here are the pictures of the car without the solid windshield: I definitely looks different I think, but better or worse, I'm not sure. Let me know what you think.

Very Very amazing, i'm sure this is not assembled anymore, but on a further project on it i would say the black outlined windshield, not the all black windshield. Btw i just finished an Enzo, so can you please take a look.

I'm almost done with mine...I just need to wait for some pieces to come in the mail...then I'll make some minor modifications. But I'm going to post my McLaren first...so don't expect the Enzo to come out this month. I'll probably post ti early next month. How long did it take you to build this car? How long is the wheelbase? OK...I think I'll stop bugging you for a while. Oh! And by the way, I made a fan club for you. Here's the link: http://mocpages.com/group.php/16839 Thanks!
Hey, thanks, I just joined! This car probably took me at least a month to build, just trying to get everything the way I wanted it. And the wheelbase I think is 21 studs. If you can find plans of the real car, or even just some good pictures, you can usually scale things pretty well. Well, I can't wait to see yours still...Good luck on the finishing touches! |

When I build mine, the back will slightly increase in width (hopefully), from 16 to 16 1/2 tile and then 16 1/2 stud. But it's going to be hard to do it because the back is going to be an odd width. But I won't start building it for a while because I'm going to build a McLaren Formula One car first, but I can't start until the wheels which I bought arrive. |

So the doors aren't connected to the car? Is this car wider at the rear section than at the middle part?
The doors kind of lock into place, but no, they're not connected by an actual hinge. As far as the width, the middle and rear are the same width, 16 studs. The only part that's not is the front, which is narrower. Hope that helps! |

...finally the almighty Enzo. Well, just perfect. The pros on this one are endless, so I will utter two minor points of critique or better suggestion: get rid of that solid windshield, it looks like an anti-freezing mat or whatever it's called. Second point is the rear bonnet. the beams sem to bejust a tad to short IMO. Maybe it's just me, but it looks somehow weird. OK, I really hope you aren't working on an FXX - it's my turn now ;-P Best wishes and always keen on your new creations, Jens |

Blue fenders: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=7970-1 BTW thanks for the compliment on my EB110, glad you like it. PS. if you want to take photos for your Enzo without the solid windshield I suggest to slope the windshield frame a bit more, would look better IMO. |

Superb! Infinitely more accurate than the official set. From behind, this looks like a scale model rather than a Lego creation, very nice work. I am also on the fence about the windshield, looks better with it in some pictures, and better without it in others.. Great work. Peace ~ Packie |

this is great. but if i can just suggest something- take the windshield off and just make the lines of where the edges would be. let the imagination fill in the rest, you can tend to get a car to look better that way. :) |

Oh my! Wow! Another fine Italian Sports Car,Ryan. Wow, You captured the lines and essence of the valuable and aerodynamic Enzo Ferrari. It is perfect pretty much everywhere! I love the butterfly doors, the "Ryan Link" Detailed engine bay, and all of the other operable features! An opening hood-insane on an Enzo- you got the form and function on this one for sure! From every angle, this car is beautiful! Thank you for not skimping on the details on this one (you never have). You even have the rear diffuser! If you haven't caught on that I really like this model- I REALLY LIKE THIS MODEL A LOT! Too many details to talk about, which is good. Congratulations on a great build! I guess you already beat me to displaying a beautiful Ferrari in front of your new Ferrari Mosaic! Great work! Keep building! -Anthony Dunne |
