My sudden sequel to the Apocacopter from my MO entry.
About this creation
Okay, for this one I'm going to try not to make any references to Apocalypse Now, Predator, or any movie that prominently features a helicopter... This is gonna be tough...
Well, after my MO entry got DQ'd, I had the opportunity to recycle my Apocacopter. Over on Flickr I'd received the request to beef it up, so I converted into... Well, a Post-Apocalyptic UH-1 Huey. Okay... The movie reference thing is going to be ALOT harder than initially expected... Let's move on before my head explodes, shall we?
We'll begin with one of my favorite angles: The 3/4 view. This should give you a pretty good overview of the entire chopper. This is also the best angle to take pictures from, as it's the only way I can get the majority of the bloody thing in there. Yes, it has outgrown my lightbox. Yes, I will hold this against it.

Let's get a closeup of the cockpit section, shall we? You can cram four minifigs into the chopper, and probably stick some more on the boards. However, this is one cramped ride. To get a good idea of it, imagine yourself carpooling with another two other friends in a smart car. Now imagine the smart car was made of scrap metal and flew. Nerves of steel is a requirement.

The engine is now mounted on top, and slightly further down into the main body. This gurantees at least one survivor, as the engine is less likely to kill everyone should it explode. We've entered the future, right?

Also, note the more armored tail section. If the chopper's carrying folks, it can't afford to go spiralling out of control. Although it's really fun to watch if you're in another chopper. It'll look great on youtube too.

A side view of the heli. Yes, you can't see the tail. Trust me, there's nothing interesting there.

The rear view! In defiance of all things logical, it does NOT look best from the rear. Unfortunately, baby don't got back.

Yet another side view. Note the frog on the board. In case you hadn't guessed, this is the same frog from earlier. He's moving up in the world. /rimshot

Head on! (Apply directly to the forehead).

And here we have a lovely overhead shot. I find this really helps to showcase the huey-esque shape.

Another bloody 3/4 view. It's really the best angle for this baby.

Here we have a fantastic shot without any squishy mortals. I find this helicopter works fantastically on it's own, and with people inside. Can you believe this is only my second helicopter, with the Apocacopter being the first?

Check out that mismatched interior. Sexy, right? We have authentic leather for the pilots seat, a seat of questionable origin and design for the copilot, and a looted diner seat with most of the stuffing removed for the passengers. What, you think we're going to sift through God knows what just to have matching seats?

And finally, as a reward for your patience, Liftoff! They've gotten to the chopper, so why haven't you?

Shoot, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold out on that... Oh well...
Fourth Wall Commentary:
I'm honestly shocked at how well this and my Apocacopter turned out. I've never built a helicopter before, so this is even more amazing to me. And of course another thing that amazes me is how close to the actual Huey it is. It's nowhere near perfect, but it's good enough for me.
And that's all folks! Thanks for stopping by, and drop me a comment if you have the time!

This is the essence of awesome. Just one thing, Maybe incorporate some brown (a teeny bit) in the greebs, plus awesome work on the greebling.
Thank you! As much as I'd love to make it look all grimy and damaged, I just don't have the proper parts to make it happen... |

I DID read the disclaimer, and thought that it was stupid! ;) My previous demand still holds true.
Fine. Check my Flickr page, that should satisfy your need for 'Git to da choppa' for now ;) |

That looks like it was really hard to build, it came out looking great though. I really like all the different things you've done with the claws.
Thanks! It actually came to me surprisingly easily. I'm tempted to build more apocacopters now. Maybe a dual rotor...

Thanks guys!
@El Nickre: Glad you approve!
@Carter: Didn't you read the disclaimer about me trying NOT to do that? ;)
I'll see what I can do though.
@Shifu: Indeed it is.
@Andrew: Thank you! It was extremely tempting...
@Bones: That was actually the case. It started out with the 'copter, and the MOC was made to showcase it.
@Dr. HappyBaboon: Thanks! I'm over my DQ now. Discworld is a great way to cheer up. |

Really sweet aerial screw. I'm suprised that you didn't have Shwarzeneggar yelling: "GIT TO DE CHOPPA!!!" or something of that sort. Anyway, very interesting shape as well as connections here. |

Thinking back, I think she can get some back implants. I'm thinking fins along the tail. |
