With Summer almost at an end I have a bunch of building projects that have been finished, but gathering dust and need to be posted. Here is not my newest project, but one of my favorites: the Lego Offroad Rally diorama.

About this creation

In this Dio, three of the vehicles in the rally are racing across the desert. We have two modified trucks in the back and leading the race is... You guessed it, a volksTank.

The tracked vehicle is leading the way through the soft sand because it's weight is spread evenly accross all the tank treads.

In fact, you can even see the tracks the volksTank leaves behind.

So first, we'll do a profile of your everyday volksTank. It may be cute, but don't let that fool you. It was made by the slightly evil mechanical genius of Dr. Zimmer Von Splikitztein.

The slightly evil Dr. has taken the original VW Beetle and done some things to it. First of all instead of wheels, it's got treads and it's also a bit bulked up. Think of it as more of a goliath beetle than your average ladybug.

It's also got quite a nice interior with a leather bench seat and a bunch of gauges for everything you needed to know and quite a few for things that you don't need to know.

It's also got a bigger engine. Still an air cooled flat four none the less.

Here's the first truck, a Toyota Race Pickup. The truck has a supercharged V8 spruced up body work and huge tires. It's even got space for cargo in the bed.

The Toyota Race pickup is driven by famous rally driver Ken Ishibashi who also enjoys drifting semi trucks.

The last truck is a modified hummer with a large supercharged V8 as well. The driver is John McCoy from Texas in the USA. He is also a well known body builder.

And here are the racers with their machines. Whoops looks like John took something with him by accident.

Wow, a three-in-one MOC. All three of these could stand alone. Your setting of them in an off-road dio is perfect. It is simple, and gets the point across so well. Regards, Eric.
