Yeah. The rebels set up a small base on Endor and then took Coruscant from the remenants of the Empire. The alliance became the main government but the Empire was not extinguished. There were loads pf battles and stuff which you can read in books or research at "http://starwrs.wikia.com/wiki/main_page"; . Then the Yuzzahn Vong, an extragalactic race, invaded and tried to kill all the "jeeedai" and were a general pain for thirty yeas or so, untill they got oned by Luke Skywalker's Kids.
