The Wraith is the S.I.D.’s premiere battle cruiser and mobile command center. Unlike many of their ships which are either custom built or acquired through discreet third party contracts, the Wraith was acquisitioned when S.I.D. agents led by Colonel Kamirzakoff staged a “hostile takeover” of business mogul Humphrey Hawksley’s intergalactic shipping enterprise. In actuality Hawksley had been smuggling everything from stolen ancient artifacts to illegally manufactured weapons to decadent, not to mention very wealthy clients for years. Once the S.I.D. nabbed him, the Colonel gave Hawksley a simple choice to make. Either spend the rest of his life in a 6x8 foot cell or continue on with his nefariously lucrative ventures as part of the new financial division of the S.I.D. He grudgingly chose the latter knowing his former life was over. As part of this new deal, Hawksley’s newest luxury cruiser the White Swan was retrofitted by Dr. Whackemoff with a lethal arsenal of weapons, upgraded engines, energy shields, stealth device, and one killer paint job! Most of the former cargo space had to be sacrificed but Dr. W. was able to save the lounge with the karaoke bar not to mention the crew’s quarters are far more luxurious than those of any other typical warship.
About this creation
The Star Slayer is the Wraith’s main weapon and death dealer extraordinaire! Essentially a gigantic version of a particle beam gun, it runs the length of the ship and is powered directly from the FLT drive. With a range of 5000 kilometers, the molecular bonds of any physical substance or energy barrier struck are literally ripped apart. The Star Slayer can only be fired once every five minutes and while it’s recharging the FTL drive is also deactivated. Fortunately the rest of the weapons and vital systems are still on-line during this time.
The Wraith is also equipped with twelve naval classed heavy laser cannons. As with the naval PBG’s, two are mounted on the forward hull attached to the wing stabilizers and two more are in the aft wing stabilizers. The other eight are mounted in pairs on turrets running the length of the ship. With a maximum range also reaching 2500 kilometers these large lasers can slice up armor plating like carving a Thanksgiving Day turkey.
The Wraith is also armed with four secondary naval classed particle beam guns. Each gun is also hard mounted to the hull with two firing forward and two aft. Possessing a maximum range of 2500 kilometers and one tenth the firepower of the Star Slayer (which is still ten times stronger than standard particle beam gun), a direct hit from one of these weapons would instantly disintegrate any mech of fighter or blow a sizable hole in the side of an opposing capital ship.
This shot reveals the bridge after its remodel to accommodate the multiple communication and radar arrays. Directly beneath the tower and also tied to the FTL drive is the Nightshade cloaking system. It allows the Wraith to move undetected while traveling at sub-light speeds. Naturally the Wraith must deactivate before opening fire. However, having a battle cruiser suddenly appear out of nowhere, lay down a devastating volley and then suddenly disappear again is more than enough to throw mass confusion among the enemy. This is exactly how the S.I.D. operates.
Two of the defensive laser cannons are located in-between the tower’s exhaust vents.
For in close defense from enemy fighters, there are eighteen large caliber laser cannons identical to those wielded by many mechs and star fighters throughout the galaxy. Each laser is mounted in its own turret and can be operated via an automated targeting computer or manually controlled by a gunner if necessary.
Above the engines is the flight control center in charge of launching and recovering all the fighters. It also directs the rearward firing weapons and in close support lasers when necessary.
During space travel the wings are retracted into their storage positions.
Despite its immense size, the Wraith can make planet fall using its multiple sets of variable position wings to control its atmospheric flight.

I wish I could go to the Lego store and buy this if it was a set !!! I'll have to study this one closely, it's a very interesting way of making microscale ship, and the shape has no flaws, fantastic job !
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll let you in on I did them. Thinking something I did would inspire you is a compliment indeed! |

excellent parts usage.
Thanks. The funny thing was that when I started building this my plan was create something more like a submarine! Just goes to show you never can tell what's going to pop out. |

I could swear that I already commented on this baby! Hmm... Anyway, The use of these sword-things in the front is cool and the variable wings, which were partially inspiration for my 'Triakis Class' give it nicely dynamic touch! ~Cheers
More importantly I can't believe it took me this long to notice you commented on it! I must getting real senile these days. Anyway thank you for the vote. I know she may not be as impressive as most of G.A.I.A's other capital ships but it's been a while since I did any nano-scale so I'm a bit out of practice. |

Agreed, Long Live Gaia. Nice design. Remind me to keep my fleet off your bad side, ey?
No problem. By the way I'm still waiting to see what you intend to post for the S.I.D. I have no doubt it wil be great. |

could have sworn i've seen this before... this looks c ool. like bab 5 might have done or something, just a sweet design dude, looks like GAIA is not as alone at likes to think,
G.A.I.A. is never alone. It just went on vacation for awhile. Everyone's so caught up in the MocOlympics right now it's no surprise that anything not directly related may get stuck taking a back seat for the time being. Once all this madness is over, we'll get back to our old flames of LEGO! |

A "blade" ship that I really like...
Thanks, I was trying to put my own spin on a "Star Blazers" styled battle cruiser and after reworking what looked like an overgrown squid, the Wraith set sail among the proverbial LEGO stars. |
