I'm late, but I'm still here. Remember that door with the two red lights? Well, it's open. Cue Le Gasp. Also: Deus Ex Machina.
About this creation
"I do believe I am late. And not fashionably so, either.
I apologize for this."
"Giant alien AIIIEEEE! Run away, run away!"
"I have had- excuse me..."
"Help! Help! Giant monster!"
"As I was saying: I have had some connection issues recently. Not major ones, but potentially expensive. Put frankly, the options were A: keep being active and go even deeper into debt, which for me would be beyond impossible, and B: shut down for a week or so. I chose the option that would let me start regaining money soonest.
*painful sounding thud*
"Thusly: this is late. By a rather large and most definitely impolite margin.
I have done this before, and promised it would not happen again.
Excuse me again, for a moment."
"Up you come."
"Why, thank you."
"Aaah! Monster! Aaah!
Okay, I'm out of panicked things to say. I'm done here."
"As I was saying: I have done this before, and announced it would not happen again.
Therefore I should probably do something...
to make reparations for that.
Something like hanging on to your lifeline in case something goes horribly, horribly wrong in the next while."
"Ahem: "lifeline", would you please?"
*beep beep beep* *beep beep* *beep beep beep*
"That doesn't sound-"
*soundless, also painful sounding thump*
*also a gentlemanly teleport*
"Oh, there you are. Coming?"
"Of course, old boy.
An indeterminate time later...
"Ooh, my head... What happened?"
"Strange dream... Well, no talking dragons here. What's...
maybe it wasn't a dream after all..."
"This wasn't here before either. I'd better take it along with me before the laws of physics notice and start asking inconvenient questions."
Status: door is open. If, perchance, the other door has breathable air on the other side, you won't be able to open it due to safety lockouts to prevent curious toddlers from decompressing the entire ship.
The button next to the doors is an opening switch only. As far as you can tell, there are no other obviously door related controls.
Your current objective: find some way back to civilization. Assuming you aren't in civilization already, in which case you want to find your way to a different civilization; one where people don't get beaten around the head and shoulders and dumped in airlocks.
A: Remove helmet. Discover answer to life, the universe, and everything.
B: Examine metal objects attached to the wall.
C: Interact with computery looking object on the other wall.
D: Continue panicking.
E: Take a long walk out a short airlock. It's what you deserve, you dirty CYLON.
F: Tie the rope to something sturdy, and then tie it to yourself.
GI: Take a look out the door- stop! Carefully!
GII: Make a dummy out of one of the spare suits and the leftover helmet, and lean him out the door instead.
H: The giant monster could breathe in space. Clearly, so can you. That whole bit about the airless void? It's obviously all lies. Remove that useless suit and go for a dance in the dark.
