Welcome to my second official, first serious, foray in to the world of Mechs. My first attempt at a mech was in the MOC Athalon; it was very rushed and left me unsatisfied.(that's what she said) I wanted to make something in honor of my younger brother, in the Army and stationed in Iraq, who is a big fan of the genre, so I dove in again. Some of you may have seen the teaser, thrown in with the post of my LEGO den, others are seeing it for the first time. Whichever you may be, I hope you like it.
About this creation
Hmmm, how to describe it...'It's super cool with bunches of missiles and a big ass gun!'
Here is my lil bro's SigFiggy in the cockpit. There is a sweet greebly thing by his head. Doesn't he look happy and ready to blow the hell outa something? Well, he's in luck! Two sets of dual armpit missiles, armed and ready, with two more sets of four on his shoulders! Can you say 'Holy Shnikies!'?
'Do these jets make my butt look big?' Look at all the rad, important looking stuff attached to him, doing who-knows-what. Really makes it look all high-tech and junk.

Fourth Dimension Commentary: Whew! Two months of designing, building, tweeking, detailing, changing and even some dust collecting, it's finally done to my satisfaction. I wanted to go with an Exo-Force style, but better. Getting it totally stud-less and coming up with the big ass gun were the two things that took the longest and also add the most to the creation. It all started with the feet and went up from there. The cockpit design led to my VicViper, which ironically was posted over a month ago. Anyway, I hope you all like it, but most of all, I hope my bro likes it. He is my hero for putting his life on the line to protect the freedoms we exercise every day. May there be a higher source looking over him and all the soldiers who are far from home and the ones they love. Until next time, brick on through to the other side.~H

I am a huge fan of mechs, however unadept I am at building them. This is, IMO, a perfect example of what one should be: perfectly sculpted and toting an awesome weapon. And just so you know, that little joke of yours in the first paragraph made me laugh out loud. |

I love the musclebound look and all of the detailing. I especially approve of the feet.
I often see mechs that are awesome but have these teeny-tiny feet that just couldn't support the weight of the unit. Again, excellent work!! |

I'm not too much into mecha, except when they're perfect like this one - your brother must be happy ! My favorite part is how you've includes the windscreen and obviously the very 'cliché' gun, extremely well done ! The gun is attached to the hand, in the palm area. There is a rubber band there to create some friction so that it doesn't just spin at the wrist. So, to answer your last question, the hand is technically just for show, as the gun is not removable. Originally it was, but picture taking required a little more stability.~H |

Oh man, that's a great MOC. In some aspects it reminds me of *my* first foray into the world of mechs, the BloodStone. But on most points, you have a better idea of what you're doing. I like how you did the gun especially. Ooh, and the spikes/teeth on the back! Really cool. |

It came out nice. It looks sturdy and like a blast to play with (which you exhibit nicely here, hehe). My favorite details are the knuckle guards to hide the finger joints and of course...the quad machine rifle thingy. Fear the headless mecha! |

Matt's right - pot-monkey is a glaring ommission but I understand for safety's sake - I have two small children so I sympathise. That aside, fine creation! Love that gun, no other way to put it, and the under-arm missle capacity gave me a warm glow (which I quickly doused because they're heat-seekers). Nice proportions throughout, chunky and studless, great job! |
