This is the BCPD fleet of 2011 Chevrolet Caprice Cruisers. They are based on the new Caprice PPV which is built by GM subsidiary Holden in Australia. Brick City was chosen to receive a small advance batch of these new cruisers. They were purchased in traditional black and white, and in a new all white scheme with minimal markings. The black and whites also carry the new BCPD patch design.
About this creation
Fleet photo.
The black and whites are equiped with the standard issue folding stock Remington 870.
The all white cars are driven by shift supervisors and carry a Colt M-4.
The only real difference between these cruisers and my previuos attempt is these cars are longer and have narrower axles. I didn't like how much the older design's wheels protruded beyond the fenders.
Edit: I've added the LDD file. Please don't abuse this. I don't want to see it uploaded under someone else's name on LEGO. If you build one, just give me the credit I deserve.

It says the LDD link is broken, can anyone email me it? I'd love to play around with it :)

Very nice models guys! In fact, i though that it looked so good that I went and built my own using your car as a ispiration. Now, I didn't use the LDD file you put up, I made my own version. Some parts like the front look the same, but there are some big diffrences between mine and yours. Check it out here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/249538 |

Very, very good. I really like these designs and they're presented very well also. The way you included push-bars is quite nice. |

Dude, I've seen this done for windshield wipers by someone on MOCpages. I'll have to try it! Thanks for the tip. I think it will work perfect. I've also added the building instructions for all of you who've asked.
Edit: I tried this last night, and it is amazing. If you want them really stable, it does limit you to 2 antennas. You have to center them in the slot for them to go deep enough, but it does make them more realistic looking.

hey check out this picture(on the back of the limo). http://www.flickr.com/photos/rupilego/3333033863/
you could put a grill tile up on the roof and put a bunch of antennas in the slats and it wouldn't be as bulky. I'm not saying your way is wrong but I agree that the antenna is bulky because that's the way Lego makes it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. On the issue of the antennas: Local Police and Highway Patrol cruisers have as many as six on the roof, so it is more an issue of the scale of LEGO's antennas than of the number.

Thanks everyone. Feel free to copy away. Just tell everyone where you got the idea. The new buddy icon is a Pierce Velocity PUC. I still need a couple of bricks from Bricklink. It is still a while from being posted. I took the photo as a teaser! |
