My second crack at a Diesel Locomotive road transporter.
About this creation
This is modelled on a MAN TG-X 8x4 (XXL) tractor unit. This is one of the trucks that Allely's Heavy Haulage company uses to transport Locos and other railway rolling stock.
Allely's colour scheme is usually a light blue/turquoise colour but I have seen some of their trucks in red and white recently.
The tractor unit is 8-wide, the locomotive (BR Class 37) is 8-wide and the trailer is 9-wide. My first attempt at a width in an odd number and I'm quite pleased with the result.
I was going to try and make the tractor unit 7-wide but I wanted to experiment with using a patio window as the windscreen which meant it had to be 8-wide.
The container carries spare wheels for the trailer and loading chains. It can also carry heavy weights to improve traction on the rear wheels.
The container can be removed and the truck can tow a trailer using it's fifth wheel.
The BR Class 37 Diesel Electric Loco loaded onto the trailer ready to be hitched to the tractor unit.

Actually English is my first and only language; I guess I just worded things wrong, sorry. I wasn't trying to be insulting, just being stupid I guess. OK, let me rephrase it, the truck is really, really, really good, but the locomotive is even better! Which is really saying something.
I'll take your advice and go check out the train’s page too.
Sorry it took so long to notice you left a comment, I wanted to look at the MOC again and just by luck noticed you’d left it. I hope, in the future, MOCpages makes it so that you get an E-mail when someone replies. |

Going through the groups after a month of inactivity and this one cought my eye. Really awsome, The truck is amazing but I agree with that other guy, it is pathatic compared to the locomotive it tows, thought that is really saying something because it is one of the best trucks I have seen on it's scale.
Thanks Scott. I'm not sure I like your choice of words as describing this truck as pathetic but I'm assuming english is not your first language. The Locomotive is actually featured on it's own page and there is a link to it above. Comments for the train would be greatly appreciated there, I would rather have comments for the truck or the collective model as a whole here. Thanks though for your rating.

original, spectacular, realistic, masterfully colorly schemed!all it needs is scale comparison, and maybe building context, like a pit stop. excellent work!
Thank you Cyberfrank.
This was a huge creation and I don't think I've got enough of the right bricks to build a pit/truck stop in the same scale.
It's a bit too late anyway because I dismantled it all about a month ago. I've got plans to build a new truck in a similar scale so I'll probably build a car aswell for comparison purposes. |

Well, I guess if one of the trailer wheels is flat, it doesn't give effect to it right? Hehe. Anyway, Awesome truck. |
