Aquarium
Welcome to my aquarium... with a lot of SNOT work and some blue filters, I've made a formidable fish tank.
About this creation

This is an aquarium I built during the weekend as a backdrop for a storyline. Since the storyline still lacks plot, other backdrops, more characters, and other essential things, I'm uploading this as an individual creation for the time being.

Here's a good view of the viewing window. The window is a simple construction made of flat hinges and clear panels.

Here is my poor sigfig. He's a little out of focus, because he stood too close to the lens. Now he won't stop sulking, and I may have to build him a car...

Here's a head on view of the window. You're looking at it from this angle because I'm about to launch you into the tank...

...Don't worry, you're not drowning. Here's a view of the tank without a window or filtered blue light to obscure your view. Maybe I'm a fool to put a shark and a dolphin and several small, bite-sized sea creatures in a tank together, but luckily their teeth are plastic.

This is the coral I put in the corner of the tank. The brain coral is made entirely out of LEGOs®, believe it or not. I took some flexible grey LEGO® tubing and tied it in a knot, then plunked it down on my ocean floor.

I'll close with this overall view of the build. The thin horizontal gap in the back tank wall is a slot for light filters, I used various trans blue LEGO® objects and a sheet of green graph paper to achieve the blue light inside the tank in the first few photos.

Comments of all sorts, compliments, criticism, and cross-breeds, are both welcome and appreciated. Thanks for viewing.

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J Very nice! Nice touch with the aquarium tank door!
Thank you. It's for feeding my disobedient minifigures (and people that self-promote in my comments) to the shark.

Quoting Jeff Fauble Reversing the glass so that it faces inward would decrease the gaps, and putting lights in the tank would help with visibility through the glass. Other than that, this looks like a great start!
Yeah, I realized that in hindsight (which is always so much clearer than foresight. Oh well). The darkness inside the tank is intentional... I used a flashlight and some filters to give it murky, blue light.
Quoting colton scott this is so nice I kinda reminds me of sea world. it also looks like it was built on it's side in some spots
It is... it's known as Studs Not On Top, or SNOT. It's a great way to increase the potential of your LEGO bricks.
Quoting El Barto ! Looks great!

Thanks. Those windows are more popular than I had expected.
Quoting General Govostes cool!
Thanks.
Quoting Abundantly Abominated (A.K.A Noface) The curved glass is really great. The underwater scenery is great, and so are the SNOT wall decorations.
Thanks. The creation started as a display for those wall decorations.

Quoting Jswish Productions That is so cool I am going to add you as a fav and check out my creations please.
Hey Jswish, self-promotion in comments is usually considered slightly rude (though I'll let it slide)... and I always check out the creations of people who comment on my stuff, no matter what. Comments will get your pages more views if you don't mention your own stuff, believe it or not.

Quoting Tom Simon Works for me. Simple, but effective. In fact, the simplicity is a virtue. Great parts usage. Don't underrate those plastic teeth though. I've learned my lessons pulling apart some stubborn plates. ;^}
That's why I have two LEGO plate levers... the could seperate a pair of glued 2x2s. Thank you for commenting, and thanks to Green Man and Jontheflyingscotsman Meaden as well.

Effect meaning overall emotions and feelings one gets from it. I love the way you did the curved window. The coral on the bottom is also very ingenious. The railings SNOTted up against the wall add to the design of the scene. Ah yes the LEGO community can be very cruel some times. Even great creations like this can be overlooked just because it isn't star wars. Despite the ratings this little enjoyable scene is lovely! Great job here!

Quoting Chris Phipson Hey, that's pretty darn cool! Love the effect you produced! Nice one! ~ Chris.
Thanks for the comment! I must admit I'm curious which effect you're referring to... the overall feel of the build or a specific characteristic of it?
