Pyromech MK. 1
This is the first of my full scale mechs, using several experiment methods and ideas. I encorporated dependent swift legs, a flamethrower, laser cannons, and fully protective cockpit.
About this creation
Side-on view of cockpit and flamethrower in action.

Sample shot demonstrating how the cockpit opens as well as movement range of laser cannons on the right arm (I reckon it has 100deg vertical maneuverability - flamethrower is about 60 due to complexity and weight of structure). The cockpit was of simple standing-up configuration and offers a protective encompassing canopy.

Front on shot with minifigure for scale. This is the average size of mech's that I'd like to aim for working with in future - a midpoint between simple versus complex, and intimidating versus unimposing.

The main difference from this mech's legs to many others is the way it walks. The legs are connected by technic pieces so when one moves forward, the other moves back, (see LEGO sets 2151 and 4940); the motion can be used to make walking easier and smoother - this makes the mech much more playable than segmented independent legs such as on the star wars AT-AT's and many other mecha.

Rear view showing radiator panels, and electronics/motor block. Also pictured is the rotation pad (intersecting just above the legs' mechanism) that allows the torso 360deg movement.

Rear action shot of the towering mech - an intimidating figure indeed.

Overall, a relatively simple design that has great durability and functionality. In conclusion, I'd call it a success!

Nice work, I like the flamethrower arm and the CP looks good. Some knees might have been nice, but the playability is great!

First glance looks brilliant. Colours and shape work well but on a closer look weapons are a bit average. Also the rock raiders style of leg movement is a thing of the past and should probably be left there. Anyways i hope to see an updated version.
