My "Pimp My Toa" Entry for Bionicle Display Group's Pimp My Toa Contest.
About this creation
The original Inika Toa Nuparu in all his black glory. But what if it wasn't that other toa, I forget his name( :P ), that received golden armor but good ol' Nuparu...
Tada!
On one of Nuparu's excavation digs, he discovered a rare artifact, which upon contact transformed Nuparu into the Golden Nuparu you see right here. That's right folks, and for just $999.99 you too can be transformed into a golden toa!
Clad in the mystical golden armor of awesome, Nuparu now sports a Midak Rock Blaster, for when you want to blow up some... rocks or something.

Along with other accouterments, golden claws allow the originally fingerless toa to now 'pick up things'. So now he can live his dream of cosplaying as Wolverine from X-Men fame.
But wait, there's more! Alternatively, Nuparu can activate a pair of energy blades attached to his gauntlets, should he, perchance come in contact with a zerg infestation!
Did I say that was it? Nope! One last remnant from the ancients was this mystical communication device.
The Golden Vuvuzela!

And I just had to get this finished on the last day of the World Cup, geez. Anyway, this contest proved interesting in what I could do to an existing toa in keeping it recognisable as that toa, while at the same time seeing how radically I could change the form. I could have done more on some areas, bulked it up some more. Probably something more with the feet too. Oh well.
Don't ask about the freaky antennae. Actually, on second thought ask if you want!
Reminds me of a chicken with the hind legs. A big, black co-, I mean ROOSTER.

Nothing terribly complicated with them. Give it a try with whatever sets are left in stores, or wait a bit for the rest of the Hero Factory line to come out, since they basically use the same parts as Bionicle. |

Definitely, but when you have a colour scheme, you just have to stick to your guns. I may have decided to keep them because it changed the flow of the legs, making you think the knees are where they are not. But yes, you are correct, they stick out more than I would have wanted to. Maybe a Golden variation for another toa next time. |
