RB-24 "Skifter" Short-Range Space Superiority Starfighter
A random fighter that I just started toying with. I was just tossing around ideas, thinking of a racer, and this developed instead.
About this creation

Here we see the RB-24 on the Tarmac with the pilot. The pilot is a recycled Mission Mars Astronaut, and the RB-24 is the first fighter I have ever built to incorporate working landing gear.

A view of the Aft of the Skifter, and the oversized engines, perfectly adapted for space combat.

A head on view of the Skifter. Please note the dual cannons in the nose. This is the only fighter that I have built exclusively as a space dogfighter. It carries no missiles.

A belly view of the Skifter, showing the retracted landing gear. Unlike my other fighters that I have designed, this is the first one to incorporate functioning landing gear.

From the top, the Skifter looks like the Galaga fighter. Time to shoot some bugs, sir!

A front and back comparision of the Skifter and the Dagger fighters.

A front and back comparison of the Skifter and the Jacknife fighters.

I originally had planned to build a racer for this one. I notice that whenever I try to build a racer, I build a nice battle MOC instead. I must try to build racers more often.

Quoting Scotty Clarke It's Brilliant. Looking at the back though, I reckon it would look just as good with the cabin facing the othe way. Maybe even more racer-ish?
That is an interesting thought. I shall have to look into that.

Quoting Alfred Q This ship is awesome! I really like the wedges on the front to form the prongs, it makes the whole shape of the ship look fast and agile. The large engines and color scheme are also awesome! 5/5!
Thanks for the feedback. Fast and agile was my goal, and this fighter achieved it, though I still feel something is still not quite right with it.

Quoting Androctonid - Ehhh... I'm not sure the Piranha could take this. It looks pretty maneuverable! The Piranha's just twitchy going at full speed, and it isn't good at anything else.
And sometimes, twitchy is exactly what is needed.

Quoting Mister Bones Ok, great design, but...awesome use of color! That is one sleek fighter!
Thank you for the feedback! I liked the colorscheme too. I was just looking to find a use for those orange pieces, and it turned out well.

Quoting Ced The Clever Looks like the ship of choice for a lil' PEW PEW. Good job.
A little pew pew indeed. Thanks for the feedback.

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J Personal opinion: it seems the white pieces upfront are out of place. Wouldn't it deter the pilots field of vision? It seems too wide; same size as the fins on the back. Oh well, ignore me ...
No, thank you for your opinion. It does seem to interfere with the pilot's field of view, and I've been thinking about that. I actually added them at the front because I wanted to stray from the norm. Most fighters end up being wedge shaped. And it was originally going to be a racer, the idea was that they were going to be aero stabilizers. Thank you for for your feedback!

Your fighters definitely have a style worthy of praise. They each possess elements that allow them to blend in seamlessly with a variety of universes particularly "Battletech" or "Star Wars!" I too have decided to get back into starfighters and I agree that landing gear, although seeming simple can prove to be quite a challenge. Feel free to take a gander at my ships and we can compare notes.

Sweet fighter! The shape is very interesting abd the colors are well done. The landing gear is a nice touch, something I often struggle with in my ship designs. If I have it, it is usually fixed, so pat yourself on the back for another excellent build, solidifying your place among my favorite builders! Comparrison shots are also nice. I think the skiffer is my favorite of the three shown here.
