Galactica's Main Batteries II
Firing both salvo and flack ammunition, Galactica's Main Batteries are used to defend the fleet against Cylon Raiders as well as offensively against Cylon Baseships. Unlike the Colonial Battlestars, Cylon Baseships are virtually unarmored and highly vulnerable to the Batteries.

Quoting Connor Simpson Looking at some of your older stuff here. Nice work on this turret, the shape is really nice and I love the look of those curved pieces that are placed at intervals on the rear corner of it.
Thanks, Connor! This one was a while ago. This is the pic I used as a reference: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=241167&id=/user_images/44801/1292119331m

Thanks! I had to build some of the deck aft of the Batteries to pull this one off. Otherwise it would be a floating gun.

I don't mind the sacrificing of a Tie Fighter windshield. To be honest I have about five and I don't know what to do with them all.

Quoting Shawn Purkis I never got into BSG but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy these. The craftsmanship is outstanding.
It was a tricky one with limited photos available. That's why it took two attempts, and sacrificing a Tie Fighter windshield- gasp. All Star Wars items had heretofore been off limits. Oh well. Thanks for commenting!

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Yeah, the first pic really kicks it off! The first version of the batteries was already great, but you´ve managed to even improve this high level of building! Awesome, man!
Thanks! After posting those blue shots, I found a few more stills from the show. Glad you like them!

Hay, I sent you an invite for my group 'Arctic SEALs'. If you want to, you can join. You'll be the very first person, besides me. I want to create a group of people who enjoy building space and military things, and you fit the spot. Please respond. Thanx dude! You rock! And once again, great creation!

Spectacular build, El! Extremely clever use of the "space" wheels and little Technics bushings (no one EVER made Technics parts look THIS good before!!). Sorry we haven't caught up in a while, but you can see from our postings how busy we've been... Nicely done, Partner!

Thanks, guys, yes I've seen what you were up to at BW; you put on quite a spread! As far as the build, I went with what I had, and I've got a lot of those bushings! Even though I like this better than the last attempt, I'm still not quite satisfied. But check out the Combat Landing if you get a chance. Thanks again!

Quoting Histo Sci Just plain great, as always! Love it...my only problem is I can never see the batteries that well in the show. Did you use good reference pictures or something? P.S. And I just finished Season 3...omigosh, no way! 8-O
Yes, Battlestar Wiki, just search 'batteries'. And there are two more if you search 'battle of the colony', but don't look at those if you haven't finished the series!!! Or look at the pictures but don't read anything.

Quoting Chris Phipson Ohhh, so THIS is what you were talking about with the tie fighter windows. NICE! Sooo, you gonna connect these to a ship or what? hahaha ~ Chris.
Maybe if I were building a battlestar as big as Kelso's ship, yes. But my garage isn't big enough. Thanks, Chief!
