"Survivors of Trauma" Mosaic
My first major stained glass mosaic.
About this creation
This trans Lego mosaic, measuring in at 16x30", is based on the stained glass window "Survivors of Trauma" at the St Silas Church in North Belfast, Ireland. The original window was designed by Alice McGuinness of Ogham Gallery.

The Survivors of Trauma Center was established in 1995 to assist those affected by the troubles in North Belfast, and help them transition from victims to survivors, empowering the community to become vibrant once again.

This is my first major MoC since coming out of my dim (not dark!) ages, and was first displayed at Brickworld 2010 in Wheeling, Illinois.

REally nice work. From experience getting a wall of 1x1 or 1x2 bricks to stand up is a tricky business - especially if you need to get light to shine through them... -doug

Gorgeous. Before reading the description, I mistook this as a reference to Hiroshima/Nagasaki. Glad I was informed by your material.

Quoting Arthur Gugick An excellent mosaic. Artistically pleasing and cleverly constructed. And a wonderful neighbor at BrickWorld. Still up for trading pieces...I have more trans bricks and plates than I know what to do with!!!
Thanks! Once I can get a handle on things here, I'm definitely interested in trading. First up, getting an accurate inventory of everything I've got on hand! Anything in particular that you're looking for? .a.

Beautiful, but what is behind the tree? A pillar of fire?

This is gorgeous and pictures don't do it justice. You really have to see it in person to appreciate the detail and scale. You did a fantastic job and I can't wait to see more of your work. :-)

Superb work, Alyska! Brickworld had many incredible pieces this year, and it's creations like this one that add magic to the mayhem. It's beautiful!
