A daily log of my church's building of Solomon's Temple.
About this creation
The Backstory
Alright...here's what's going on. My church's mega-sized VBS is doing a Lego elective for the second year in a row and this year's giant project is a 50,000+ piece Solomon's Temple. The temple is supposed to be constructed Monday through Friday by 150+ kids and a handful a leaders. This is day four!
The Prep
Philip and I, once again go to destroy all the free build stuff. Including all the fruits and vegetables from yesterday.
We finally get the place cleaned up.
and then head off to dump goldfish into little cups for snacks.
Also, today is "show-n-tell" which is also what I am in charge of. Lots of bags have already been brought in.
Plus, I was recruited to make cherubim right before we started.
Thanks to Philip for head and wing design.
The 1st Station - Morning
So like I said, today's show in tell and I brought in my 96x64 Mosaic to show off.
It was pretty funny because 50% of the things brought were sets. =P
The 2nd Station - Morning
So in the non-lego section, today was the toilet paper roll and Styrofoam things.

Interesting...
The 3rd Station - Morning
Not sure what the thing was for free build today, but I popped in and saw some creations.
Lunch
For Lunch today I got a chicken wrap, pasta salad, an appple, a lemonade, and some raspberry-ish-ice-cream-kinda-stuff.

After Lunch, I made the second cherubim and modified the design a little bit. The ark of the covenant was made by Mr. S.
The 1st Station - Afternoon
Nothing much happened...
The 2nd Station - Afternoon
I placed the cherubim and the ark of the covenant in the Holy of Holy's.
The 3rd Station - Afternoon
Nothing much happened...
When Everything's Over...

We made this much progress today!
But! There's still more progress for this day to come. Look for Day Four Part 2 to come out on Sunday because I have to go out of town and I was called in at 7:30 PM to go help with the Temple which will be the Part 2 update.
Make sure to follow the updates! See ya' later!

This is really cool! Is your mosaic on MOCpages? Hey, I recognize the Typhoon Turbo Sub's engine stuck between all the show'n'tell bags ( =D ), because I have it, too. The cherubim are cool. The temple is huge! |
