He went to Canada eh! That aside, I decided to take siggy out into world beyond my room for a family trip to Calgary, Canada. At first I was concerned about what other people would think as I took pictures of him, but I realized that I most likely would never see those people again. With that in mind, I took these pictures. Feel free to comment and rate!
About this creation
Our journey started at 4 am. Siggy and I where dressed, packed, and ready to go. For reasons only he knows, he decided to switch suitcase color. Sometimes I just don't understand him.
After taking off from Burbank, we took a connecting flight to San Fransisco.
Just another picture from the airport. Too bad we didn't see the Mythbusters...
Greetings from 38,000 feet! Here we are on the flight from San Fransisco to Calgary. Out the window, you can see where the clouds end, and where the blue sky begins. weird, huh?
After landing in Calgary, we went to pick up our luggage. That's when Siggy slipped and fell onto the conveyor belt. Even though I wanted to claim I didn't know him, let's face it, he's kinda helpless without me.
Here we are at the hotel...
The next day, we went to the Crossiron Mills mall. This picture was taken outside of the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store. I swear, that is the biggest shop I have ever seen in my life. Same with siggy.
Here we are leaving the place. I would have taken more pictures inside, but siggy was being chased by a bear, and I didn't wanna be anywhere close. Good thing he got out alright.
Back at the Hotel. Nothing special...
Ban FUH FUH. Gotta pronounce the 'f' twice. I love how under the English welcome it says the same thing in French. Here in California, it would read: 'La beinvenida a' Just goes to show who lives where, that's all. Anyhow, while in Ban FUH FUH, we went to a place called 'Cave and Basin'. That place smelled like *bleep*. Never again will we go back there...
The always beautiful Lake Louise.
To me the place was beautiful. To siggy it was dangerous. Different people have different perspectives, so I left it at that.
The next day was a long drive to Drumheller's Royal Tyrell dinosaur museum; filled with nasty creatures that would bite your ass if you looked at them funny.
This dinosaur was enough to scare siggy witless. Too bad for him though; that dino was the first one inside the museum...
Ha ha. Here we found a video microscope that was hooked up to a 32" tv. It's a biggy-siggy! Look out!
Tyrannosaurus "bite yo ass" Rex. Poor siggy. I gather he doesn't care too much for dinosaurs.
I guess he doesn't care too much for big lizards either. Huh.
I don't know what this thing was-and neither did siggy, for that matter- but it was pretty weird. Uber albino if you ask me.
Well the yelping didn't stop there. The next day we went to the downtown Calgary Tower. He wasn't the only one who wanted to get down...
The tower is somewhere around 600 feet high, and I myself am an acrophobe. Looking out at the city, the only thoughts I had where centered around the flippin' thing falling over, and how we'd all meet Jesus when we hit the bottom. Scary thoughts...
The tower also had a restaurant with a conveyor belt that spun the floor 360 degrees so diners could see the whole city. Fortunately for siggy, there was a beer that pushed away all thoughts of death. I guess a drunk siggy is a happy siggy...
Here in SoCal, our 10:00pm is totally different from their 10:00pm. For starters, our 10:00pm is dark...
When it's a rainy day, the squiddies will play. And yes, I did bring a squid figure all the way from California just so I could take this shot. I'm just devoted like that.
On our last day there, we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner with some relatives. There I found out that siggy rivals Mr. Kelso at artwork. I mean, come on. Look at his skills with the primaries. Just magnificent!
Imma eets dis whole cinmin bun! Anyway, our flight was scheduled at 7 am the next morning. That meant getting up at 3 am to get dressed, packed, and out the door. At the airport, we got a bite to eat at Tim Hortons. Why Calgary has so many, I have no clue. Good cinnamon bun, never-the-less.
Taken in the airplane...
Landing back in San Fransisco, I was able to take a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's beautiful, isn't it?
Back at the San Fransisco airport, we found a cool moving walkway. Guess who ended up carrying his bags...
And finally back in Burbank, a family friend took us home. We had a lovely trip, and didn't have to deal with any delayed flights or terrorists, so all was good.

You think Calgary is fun? Come to Toronto sometime. We have a tower that swivels, lots of Timmies... and... wow, we're pretty generic aren't we? Seen one city, you've seen them all.... |

You watch F-troop? I love that show! It's a shame it only ran for 2 seasons though. My favorite parts of the show were always when the tower would fall down, or when Duffy would start in with his Alamo bit. Great show.
Ah, yes, the only survivor of the Alamo! And they never could get their minds around the fact that you don't put a cannon ball in there... Indeed, great show! |

How did you like Banff
beautiful eh?
Did you go to the ice fields or the hot springs? It was alright. Kinda one trinket shop after another, but other than that it was okay. As per the second question, I haven't heard of those two places before, but they sound like they're more interesting than 'Cave and Basin'. Thanks for the comment! |
