Tubular frame
Tubular frame sportscar with tranlission behind rear axle and superlow enigine.
About this creation
1

Profile picture. The car is lower than two times wheel diameter. Recipe for succes.

2

Note the tilt of the fromt wheels. Axis of rotation when turning the wheels is tilted backwards.

3

Front view.

4

5

Yes, I know. The transmission is a bit long. But it has to be to accomodate all 5+R gears.

6

An other look at the tranmission.

7

Tubular frame - just like a real racecar.

8

Looks cool if I say so myself.

9

Note the offset position of the a-arms giving the wheel its bakward tilt.

10

Underside view. Thank you Tyler Reid for the idea of the remote link.

11

Remote linkage goes under the differential.

12

13

The W16 engine is mounted very low for realistic center of gravity. I've noticed that many LEGO creations have the engine mounted high to accomodate for transmissions and differentials.

I'm probably never going to finish it. I get bored with aesthetics quite fast.

This looks excellent. You should definately put some bodywork on it!? if it has a W16 you could make it a Bentley or a Phaeton :)

This is excellent! I have been thinking about building a car with at tubular frame for a while now, but I wasn't sure if it was practical, or even possible. Obviously, you proved that it is both! You will do the whole world a disfavor if you don't finish this.

Very nice chassis and great technical features. You must finish it

It looks like a futuristic modded vehicle. Like there remains a heavily damaged car and someone strips the car until the basic chassis and driveline, to add some own-made tube as frame. I must say I like it and it's very inventive and creative!

Nicely done, the gear box is indeed a bit long, but there are cars with a long tail, like that british (I think) sports car, I believe it's called TVR, If you do finish it you might consider to make it look like that car, great job already though

This must be one of the strongest and most impressive frameworks. You simply MUST build a body on it...

I think it's the most beautiful framework I've seen. It's got that race look and the smart use of technics parts. With this kind of framework I've got lots of ideas about what kind of body should be on it. Great job!

Excellent! Is the W16 a true W16 or two V8s geared together? Please finish it!
