Hey! That's a cool T-shirt! Oooh! Love the hat.
About this creation
I actually hate going clothing shopping, especially in Japan. Everyone is much smaller than me, and the sizes are not the same as back home. An XL here is a slightly small L. But, I was inspired by the mannequins when I went shopping at UniQlo (basically The Japanese Gap) with my wife, and here is the result.
When I was designing it on the computer, my wife suggested adding hats to my pretty boring and simple shelving. She was, once again, spot on.
I bought the magnifying glass as a novelty, with no real ideas about using it any time soon. I think it adds a nice touch. I will get some more detail photos up when I've got some free time.
Decisions, decisions.
"Oh, man! You don't need to check that! It's legit, bro."
"Sorry, man. Store policy. Every c-note gets a peep."
"Oh, now let's see... Maybe I should try something like that. A little bold, but I'm feeling bold this week. I bet Roger would fancy me in this."
Classic Space styling meets the anime influence.
"I just don't understand what the kids are wearing these days. In my day, we wouldn't have DARED wear our hair like that. We'd gotten a jolly good thumping, and we'd have deserved it!"

Yes, the magnifiers work...but don't put too much trust in the minifig compass! Nicely done, Gerry...and kudos to the Mrs...it just goes to show that "behind every great AFOL is a Wife that finds elements with the vacuum and mumbles deleted expletives" (why do you think Mark shivers that way?--Mrs. K makes him stay in the basement now!) |

So the magnifing glass DOES work? Awww sweet! I need one! This is a cool shop you have here. Maybe a Japanese poster would've been a nice touch too. |

I, too, purchased a magnifying glass, for no other reason then to have one. I like how you used it in this MOC.~H |

Nice. Clean build, fun concept. I don't know about the whole hair thing, though...every generation seems to manage something ridiculous. I mean, Lord knows what my generation did in the 80's! *shivers uncontrollably*
Oh, yeah, tell me about it. I'm bald now, so there is not much I can do with my hair, and I never followed any of the styles of the 90s when I was in high school, would have cared, and still had hair.
The comments of the preceding minifigs do not necessarily reflect the views of the builder. |
