Midi AT-TE
So, I've been wanting to build again in midi scale for a while. I've only built 2 mocs in that scale so I felt it was time to build something new. I decided on one of my favorite walkers from the prequels and the clone wars the AT-TE. I know a few details aren't 100 percent accurate, but this is the best I could do after a week of building, rebuilding, and tearing out my hair (ouch). I consider this to be one of my best creations, but, as always, I'd like to hear what YOU think! Please RATE and COMMENT:) UPDATE! Thanks to some suggestions/ideas from Brickdoctor, Swashbuckler and others, I went back and rebuilt this so it's not as "fat" and looks more accurate. Check it out and thanks, guys!
About this creation

If you look closely, you can see the greebling I made under the outter panels! Tasty!

Size comparison. "Aren't you a little short for a clone walker?"

Here's a pic of the short-lived 1st version.

I'm not even really in to Star Wars anymore, and yet this little guy still baffles me! awesome work, mate! I love the overall shape and design! BTW you might like a new theme I'm working on, called Wasteland Conflict. If you want, you can take a look at the first addition to the theme; the Heat Hornet. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/216727

Fantastic job, the detail and accuracy is perfect! Here's a tough assignment for you: build a clone trooper to scale with the walker! BTW, Would you please check out my post-apoc walker? Keep on brickin'!

Guess my comment never got approved....:-( Anyways, I was going to say that I think this is a major improvement; I really like the legs and proportions, but I'm not completely sold on the feet. I never liked LEGO's design in the first place. BTW, I finished a UCS STAP, and as a Miniland-scale builder, I thought you might have some good suggestions for future UCS builds. [in other words, please comment :-)]

Quoting Bartosz k this is awsome! how long and how many pieces did this have? i think you should build a midi-AAT, THAT WOULD BE COOL. also, are you going to make anymore microbattle scenes?
How long as in time? 5 days, 6-8 hrs a day. I did do an exact count after I tore it apart and it's 474 pcs. I do plan on doing more micro battles. In fact, I think that will be my next build:)

The Last Warrior (Kylo Malcovich)
  May 22, 2010
Hey MOODSWIM. I'm making an Imperial creation and it is a walker. But I don't know what to call it. It's small, open, and has four legs. It's a mixture of, AT-AT (four legs), AT-ST (size), and AT-OT (open design). I have to mixture in black cause I have very little grey, but what to call it? AT-LC? (All-Terrain-Light-Carrier) What do you think?

Sounds cool! I like AT-LC. If it's mostly black, maybe call it a shadow AT-LC like it's a stealth walker.

This is really cool. Although it looks like its isnt proportionate. hmm, maybe if you made it shorter, or longer. Other than that this is a great midi creation.

Quoting Brickdoctor - Wow, kudos on making the best Midi AT-TE I've seen. (but you should check out this one on Eurobricks, by either Morgan19 or Artisan, can't remember which or where) Like Swashbuckler said, it needs maybe a bit thinning out? How would it look if you substituted 3x2 wedge plates for the 4x2's on the side paneling? I don't know how big your interior structure is, but that would make the walker shorter and give the side plating a more accurate angle. Even better, try the 3x3 45-degree angle wedge plates; it's what LEGO did. (albeit, in a much larger form - 6x6) Overall, very nice, but maybe a little less red? I really prefer the nice dominantly gray ones in Attack of the Clones, even if they are monotonous. (but that's a personal opinion)
Thanks. That's funny you mentioned both of those plates because I tried both. The 45 degree plates looked better but I had too much difficulty angling the front and back panels. The hinges that attach them to the base couln't bend at that great of an angle, so I decided to stay with the 4 studded plates. I may attempt a V2 some time. We'll see.

It's really interesting to see Sw in midi-scale, doesn't happen that often and I think TLC should continue what they have started with the Falcon. Anyway, the overall look is very nice and clean, it has something Chibi though. But I have to admit I like that. All in all good job!
