In which we raid the 80s once again.
About this creation
I wanted to build some messed-up characters.
I'm really not sure how, but I came up with something I called - for lack of a better term - "Dark Nintendo": twisted revisions of the classic characters. Something along the lines of what this video game did for Alice in Wonderland.
There were two results.
First, there's Glass Joe from "Punch-Out!", or an impossibly scrawny, skeletal junkie version of Glass Joe, with ribs you could play like a xylophone.

He also looks vaguely like Tom Petty.

Then there's Princess Peach, from "Super Mario Bros.", or a bloodstained, club-wielding, psychotic version of the Princess.

This is lovingly titled the "Imma f*** your day up" shot.

There were two more characters planned.
There was Link, from the Zelda universe, but I couldn't decide what he should look like. I got as far as building him a crossbow before I gave up.Then, of course, there's Mario. I finished except the head by the time I gave up. He just looked too simple, too by-the-numbers. Too cartoonish, too.

It's too much fun to make things darker.

Looks like Friday night in their apartment would be worth sitting on the couch to watch. Lee. |

Of course it's fun making things darker, because then you can add fancy lighting and make a pretty good creation into a fantastic one. And yes, he does look a bet like Tom Petty. |

I tried my hand at a "mecha Mario" but these dark creations are awesome. Peach looks great, love the hand style. -Sam |
