As the G.A.I.A. started to develop the "Samhain Fire Mk II" and equip it with a new, compact, fighter suitable FTL drive, the Borderworlds started to develop their own prototype of such a vessel for G.A.I.A. And this is the result! ENJOY!!
About this creation
The reason that this vessel is called a "very light fighter" lies in the fact that it uses revolutionary lightweight materials, thus increasing the manoeuvrability immensely when compared to a "Dagger" . Due to the new materials used, it was possible to decrease weight and increase manoeuvrability and armour at the same time. The engineers also developed a new compact triple engine for the "Razor" which proved to be sturdier and more powerful than the Daggerīs huge single engine propulsion system, giving the "Razor" a higher top speed and faster acceleration. The extreme manoeuvrability, speed, acceleration and a highly efficient radar jamming system made the countermeasure dropper nearly obsolete, so that ace pilots will choose a model without a hardpoint for that defensive system. (I didnīt have the right bricks to build one anymore. Iīm glad that I could come up with a turret ;-P). The best part of the ship is the FTL drive. It is located in the nose together with all the sensor equipment. It creates an artificial target-oriented jumphole (some kind of wormhole) directly in front of the ship. Below the red ribbed surface on the shipīs back lies a wave emitter that is needed for destroying the jumphole behind the ship. This ship is the new pride of Borderworld engineering!
* Gun/Turret Mounts: 4/1
* Armor: classified
* Cargo Space: none
* Max Batteries/NanoBots: classified
* Optimal Weapon Class: classified
* Max. Weapon Class: classified
* Additional Equipment: CM, auxiliary tanks, FTL drive
* Price: not yet confirmed
Here you can easily see one of the auxiliary tanks mounted below the wing, it can be replaced by a gun, if the range is not needed.
On the back you can see the wave emitter for destroying the jumpholes behind the ship.
Closer look at the engines.
Jet intake, for flying in atmosphere and shield emitter.
Dorsal view.

Letīs take a look at what lies behind that nose,...

... a cockpit with a happy pilot!
Nose section with the FTL drive and canards for better maneuverabilty.
1. Expanded canards 2. Retracted for FTL jump!

The Borderworldsī Ambassador wanted a little presentation!
Some pics without the landing gear, which I havenīt planned at first. Thatīs why the front gear has a different colour than the rear.

Thanks for the comment! I hope I got you right: I didnīt want to say that you should stop commenting on other creations, but you should stop saying things like: "Please comment on my creations and Iīll comment on yours." People donīt like that. Just join some groups (where your creations fit in) comment on other peoplesīs creations and then youīll most likely get some comments in return. ~M |

Your attention to detail here is excellent to say the least! I especialy like how you made the wing cannons different combined with the folding canards for FTL jumps. I just hope this comment makes it this time. Apparently my last one was never added after I submitted it!
Your comment has (really!) been posted! ;-) Very nice to that you like it! Yeah, I like fighters with canards, they are always a nice touch. ~Marc |

Very well detailed! It's nearing my birthday (more money=more Laygos) so I'll hopefully have Juni's ship up soon. I'm kicking myself for not posting it. Just one more week of school so I'll have time to take pics soon. Thanks, Iīm already very excited to see that. If Juniīs Defender turns out as great as your Patriot, it will be a total win! |

DUDE!!!
I am smiling ear to ear looking at this! This is just perfect! It is SO in the vein of the Samhain Fires it is unbelievable, and you have developed that supercool fastback look at the rear, which just gives this fighter the look of being a Corvette to my Mustang!
MArc this is the muscle car of fighters, and I must admit, I think you have adapted the shape better than I myself have as yet, so top build, and well presented. I love the mini-fig action, and that you also put the FTL drive in the nose. (Which dips at the canopy as all good fighters should! lol) The rockets at the rear are unreal.
10/5. Well, your "Samhain Fire Mk II" was just the right inspiration for me to come up with something new. I was fascinated by your design and the FTL inside the nose. Never expected mine to have such a great impact on you! Thanks heaps, mate! Cheers! |
