Creature from the Black Lagoon
This is the 11th installment in the Dem Bones Monster Series. The creature from the Black Lagoon was a 1954 black and white monster flick from Universal Studios. This movie was originally filmed and released in 3D, one of Universals first 3D films. They are working on a re-make of the film for a 2011 release which hopefully, will be good. Any reason why Hollywood canít come up with original ideas anymore? Oh well, on to the little tribute!
About this creation

This is a great old black and white film, which we encourage you to check out along with Universal's other Monster Flicks.

The basic plot is the discovery of the ďmissing linkĒ betwixt land and sea animals deep in the Amazon.

They first find the mysteriously murdered members of another team.

Turns out, the creature is still alive, at least one is at any rate.

We will not tell you anymore, because you should watch it for yourselves!

The creature waiting in his underwater lair.

Watch out for him, or you will join the bones on the lagoon floor!

Gratuitous underwater shot courtesy of a bit of photo editing.

A couple final shots in normal lighting, the inspiration for the minifig came from Leda Katís own Creature MOC.

Dem Notes: This started as a table scrap we built on Sunday while watching some basketball. We were breaking down some older creations and sorting them when our disturbed minds formed the various pieces on the table into Bacon Time and this. We have not done a Monster MOC since the Invisible Man one, so we thought what the heck. This is just a little something to pass the time until we get back to building other projects. As a side note, this took us exactly 8 minutes to build, so yeah, just a quickie. Cheers from the Dem Bones staff!

Yeah, it's when people don't want items, so they go to a boot sale. It's basically having the boot of your car (Or the trunk) open behind you. You have a table where you lay the items out and put your won prices onto them. People walk around and have a look at the things on sale. If they want it, they buy it. Pretty simple. It's a bit like Tesco or Asda (If they are in America) and buying the things you want. Pay money, get the item. Easy as pie. (Although making one is a right kick in the butt.)

Quoting Malik Primus Well, it does pay to look around a boot-sale once in a while. (Or a yard sale for you Americans out there.)

They can be expensive. The one I use is a small, handheld security light. 80.00 from Staples. You can look around though and find those lights for less, try a Hot Topic store in your local mall, they might have one for less. Not all trans bits glow. The neon green and orange do. The new orange does not, nor does the green, dark blue or yellow. I have not tried the lighter blue ones. Hmmmmm

So if you're after an even 13 (... odd 13) you should next do Dr Jekel and Mr Hyde and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Perfect face for the Hunchback would be the little guy from the Vampire's Crypt set.

Quoting Malik Primus Great! But how do you do the UV lighting? Do you just turn the lamp on near the Lego and the transparent pieces light up? I have a UV light myself. Also, I have no idea what to build for the Spooky Group spring contest!! I think I have an idea though. It will be Bob creating a Frankenstein (Which will be me) and he will break out of the lab and go on a rampage! Would it be ok for the contest?
The UV light is a simple, small flashlight that I just aim at the MOC. It is great for underwater stuff as it has a blue glow. As for the contest, your idea sounds great, just make sure you add a spring element to it, like flowers, or using the making of the monster in spring as a play on how a lot of animals give birth in the spring.
