GAIA PL341 "Parrington" class fighter
A light fighter I built the moment I saw I was about to forget all about it.
About this creation
The PL341 is a very light, extremely maneuvrable fighter used mainly as a complement to light carriers and short range escort/patrol.

The Parringtons' holographic interface, panoramic cockpit and agility make the piloting easy and intuitive, and thus perfect for Space Cadet training.

It equips twin-mounted double-sided weapon pads functioning as a lazer on one side and as 6x rocket launchers on the other.

Butt shot. According to someone, always a winner.

Space Cadet at the controls. Which, as I said, are holographic. It's not that I forgot to build them. It's true! Trust me!

I really prefer simple builds like this, with a "could be a set" feeling about them.
In fact, most of the times I build the "sets" I'd like to find on the shelves :)

---COMING SOON--- (I hope)

So, I had an agreement with Levens about making a fighter. We should see a real mech on his page reasonably soon.
Comments are welcome :)

Parrington class hein ? verry amusing. It's first weapon is it's color: 80% of the people seeing it get blind in 2 seconds. Could therefore qualify as stealth fighter ;-)

Quite an interesting ship, a love the shape :) It looks almost as if you could use for a hammer if you hold onto the back. Nice work!

I know what you you mean about the "could be a set thing I now use only legal designs and no decals after market parst or modified parts but used them a few times in the past.

Quoting Marc R. Great design and colour scheme here. Holographic controlls are so useful. I canīt remember how I used them on my creations when I was younger. Just one question: How is this thing going to land? Will it sit on its b.tt?
It's NOT supposed to land. It should dock into a carrier or base.

Terrific! Love the vertical configuration and compliance to the color scheme. The ball is in your court now, Mr. Levens... can't wait to see what you do in Yuri's world! (BTW, Yuri..tell us more about this holographic technique. It's got to be easier than lugging around 3 ft. high Astronaut and Klingon MOCs!!)

You're right, ALWAYS a winner. Totally agree with Lee about the slave 1 influence. Nicely done there. And about the holographic controls... you didn't forget them huh? Dude, I'm so gonna try that excuse next time my wife asks me if I did something... "Of course I didn honey, you just can't see it cause it's a hologram!" Anyone think she'll buy it? ~ Chris.

Quoting Lee Jones An interesting design with a Slave 1 flavour to it. Lee.
Yeah, I was inspired by that. No, sadly this was the only kinda cool thing I could design with my red and blue supply.

Parrington? Mech? REALLY?!?! Haha, nice work with this, the shape and colors are very different. A little more non-holographic interior could have been done, but I'm sure you wanted to go for that futuristic complete lack of anything tangible in the CP, right? :)

Hey, it looks like that monkey from viva pinata. http://pinataisland.info/images/thumb/4/4e/CinnamonkeyPV.jpg/414px-CinnamonkeyPV.jpg I can't believe I remembered that, but it for some reason reminded me of it. It looks really nice, and I like the colors. ~Waff

Interesting shape, it certainly has that "could be a set" feel about it. It kinda reminds me of the Slave I from Star Wars a bit. Awesome. :P

Quoting John Moffatt Nice work, I like the set feeling as well. Oh, and what would I have to do for a Moffatt class?
It sort of happens.
Quoting Flare . HahaHAHA! Nice job Yuri, I like the controls *wink* *wink* :D
Quoting Dave and John Xandegar BTW, Yuri..tell us more about this holographic technique.
Quoting Parrington Levens Holographic controls; always a great way to explain not clttering up the cocpit with bulky computer screens..
I think they're somthing like the interface seen in Minority Report or Iron Man. Mock if you wish... first time you're halfway through uploading and notice you forgot abut something completely, I'll be the one to laugh! Muahahaha!
Quoting Mark Kelso I like the vertical cokpit design. (*sigh* have to resort to intentional mis-spellings to avoid moderating my own comment...sheeesh)
You can use "dongpit" as I do. I don't need credit.

I like the vertical cokpit design. (*sigh* have to resort to intentional mis-spellings to avoid moderating my own comment...sheeesh) While I do the complex builds most of the time, I too enjoy seeing quick little MOCs that have a "set" feel to them. Nice job, Yuri.

:D - Cool stuff Yuri; Love that name! Hehe cheers for that. I love the fact you used the GAIA color scheme with this, and the Empire could certainly use light and cheap fighters like this to fill in the gaps of any mass combat zone. Holographic controls; always a great way to explain not clttering up the cocpit with bulky computer screens. Well, my side of the deal is already underway, and I'm starting to really respect what you Mech guys do, I have already scrapped two starts at the legs level, so hard to get them to look good! But I am working on nothing else till its done, I will aim to please...Cheers mate.

A great little build -- I love the concept and the profile of the ship as well. I too like to keep things relatively simple and "playable" as much as possible. As a comicker, most things I do require that sort of durability for me to do what I want. This, with the pilot's area set up the way it is, is pretty neat in my book.
