Yes, the official LEGO release of this model was very lacking in detail! My particular focus for modifications was the mid-section (between the upper and lower hull). That area really needed a lot of additional 'meat' and filler (especially around the front of the ship). And the bridge/tower section of the ship I nearly completely redesigned, with particular emphasis on the 'globes' (the kit pieces are a joke). I was most happy with my modifications to the upper hull (the 'indented' areas were completely redesigned).. see the photo that is looking down at the ship.

A very small amount of length was added as a result of the modifications to the back edges around the engine area. I was a slight modification to the surrounding outer edges of the entire ship, which resulted in a small amount of additional lenght to the front 'tip'. Over all.. maybe an inch or so... not much.
