AEGAKS-105-MOr "Mathril"
An AEGAKS specifically designed for Anti-Air functions. The back story to this unit is supported by the Exo Force Redux I am currently working on.
About this creation

The AEGAKS-105-MOr "Mathril" was not initially developed by the Research Team. It was custom built by Ryo after his father's old ZK-32b Mobile Defender was destroyed. The Mathril uses a standard Arkham frame, but in addition to the parts from the Arkham, the Mathril contains other salvaged parts, including armor plating from the destroyed ZK-32b. It was adopted due to its usefulness on the battlefield for AA and Anti-Personnel capability.

The shoulder plate was a detail I just couldn't part with. I tried to make it seem like it was urban camo with black, white and orange. The dual SAM Launchers mounted on the back tilt foreward to provide an excellent launch angle, and the dual Anti-Aircraft Guns, drum-fed, were salvaged from a destroyed Anti-Aircraft Battery.

Kneeling, the Mathril makes for a perfect stationary gun battery. A line of these would make bombers hard pressed to make their bombing runs. The addition of the head gives added view range.

The dual SAM Launchers, more scavenged weaponry, each hold two longrange SAMs, capable of hitting fast mobile targets at medium range, or larger, slower moving targets at full range.

Both dual guns and Launchers can move independantly, giving the pilot good flexibility in dealing with targets.

Comparson between the Mathril and the Arkham. Like the Arkham, the Mathril's cockpit block is ejectable, as is the powercell. It's built utilizing the Arkham's basic frame and only deviates at the AA guns. Like this, the Mathril has a very VT look to it.

Comparison between the Mathril, and the ARTCS S-13 CONNER. I was looking for something to build, and the CONNER inspired me to build an AEGAKS AA unit. It turned out well, I think.

Quoting Kobayashi Aker no, no. like rolling the joint the legs hinge on up so it is level with the rest of the body, sort of like trying to compact it and make it more aerodinamic at the same time. it would look like someone lying on their back straight. personally though, i tried it after taking a few weeks to make my own and it was flimsy and awkward looking...
You mean like the L frame models I made?

Quoting Kobayashi Aker Mech..... Heaven..... These are amazing. They can vary the armor, style, and function on just one frame! Question: have you ever thought of rolling the lower body fowards, sort of like a.... Mmmmmm..... For lack of a better word pod racer. And the articulation is incredible too
Like a quad leg design? Any further foreward and it would become unbalanced.

Quoting Ian Barreto Well done, the weaponry is excellent! And it looks like EVA 00 from Evangelion, hehe. Good job!
Yeah, I was going for a classic anime feel with this series, so I welcome the comparison to an EVA. Thank you for the feedback.

Quoting B Gillmet People seem to use the Exo-Force Joints as a shortcut that ends up cheapening their projects, You definately know how to use them to enhance the look of yours. This one is awesome, especially the missile launch pic. This is like a big version of my Archer Exoskeleton
This is unfortunate, but true. Building with lego is like learning chess. It's easy to learn how, but extremely difficult to master. Because so many people see the Exo Force joints as shortcuts, this style tends to be looked down on.

Hey, we all start out bad. You should have seen my first. After that, I began by rebuilding the Exo Force models. Maybe you could try that?

Quoting Keith Johansen Wow! You keep chugging out AEGAKS units faster than I can blink! Love the color scheme on this one. Also, I find it ironic that for an AA unit, it seems to have fewer missiles than any other missile-equipped unit you've built. PS.. borrowing that foot design for a future model ;P
I have a great appreciation for Irony. The reason is because the other units are equipped with short-range missiles, where as the SAMs are longrange. So naturally, there would be less.

Excellent design and compatibility for not just this mech but others in the AEGAKS series. my only question is how did you create the head for the mechs because it seems to be a very sturdy design and might work with the mech design I am currently working on
