After surfing the internet, I decided to build my own ship wanting to build a giant aircraft carrier, but I had no where near enough grey bricks. So looking on the internet again I came across the container ship and the rest is history. It took me a week and four rebuilds to get the front of the ship right and a whole weekend to build. It is roughly 3 feet long and a foot high and hold 200 containers.
About this creation
The front of the ship caused me most problems as it starts at a 45degrees and tapers into a 25degree angle. The fun part was that i don't have a lot of inverted roof peices and had to use the standed bricks.
The windows are just a 1x1 brick. I would like to build another at minifig scale, but have to wait for my lego collection to grow a bit more.
The containers were 4x8 and 3 deep, an only 200 of them. The container ships on the internet held several thousand, hmmmm i need just a few more then.
