I felt like making a micro scale battle today, with a bit of a twist. Enjoy.
About this creation
Meet the CDC-RGA Mk.4, a City Destroyer Class Rail Gun Artillery Mk. 4.
The CDC-RGA is the largest ground based artillery vehicle ever made, larger than two city blocks.
Its primary weapons are two side mounted railguns, capable of delivering massive payloads to targets out of visual range. In order to achieve this, orbital targeting beacons, or capital ships relate information to the vehicle.
Because of the massive range of the weapon, it is capable of attacking starhips in orbit.
Besides it primary weapons, it also features anti-air turrets on the top, as well as two smaller cannons, used to destroy what ever escapes destruction from long range.
Before moving into the city, a heavy sustained bombardment levels every building taller than three stories. Because of the massive potential of civilian deaths, an ultimatum is delivered two weeks in advance, as well as recommendations that civilians evacuate the area.
An observation deck on the top of the vehicle allows crowds of observers to watch the distant destruction of their foes.
The main control area is situated underneath a heavy piece of armor, to defend against the vehicles main weakness, air attacks.
Deployed with the CDC-RGA are numerous average size vehicles, such as the M(edium)H(over)T(ank)-5, an average sized hover tank.
Because of the difficulty in short range target acquisition, addition smaller artillery units accompany the CDC-RGA in order to remove short to midrange targets. Such as the H(eavy)B(allistic)A(rtillery)-18,

or the L(ight)B(allistic)A(rtillery)-45

In addition to ground forces, air units also protect the CDC-RGA, such as the B(omber)F(ighter)I(nterceptor)-29

The BFI-29 has a powerful optical weapon mounted on top, which has a wide firring arc, as well as a underbelly cannon often used on bombers or ground targets.

Besides the BFI-29, two flights of A(ir)S(uperiority)F(ighter)I(nterceptor)-35 escort the CDC-RGA.

The AFIS-35's weapon systems include air to air missiles as well as heavy galting guns.

Lastly, I would like to say thanks to Yuri for some awesome BioSystems mocs which inspired the main build, and a shout out to Steef who had some very cool micro ships in one of his Classic Space Compilations, from which I used a few techniques on the BFI-29.

Quoting Ultramarine .
This is pretty sweet! A bit too sparse for me, but perhaps I'm just used to 'figs filling in.
l though about ways to represent troops, but thet were too big for this scale. l probably should have attempted to add explosion or something as well. |
