My entry for the 2010 Mech Contest in the category of classic mech. Approx. 379 pieces or 384 if you include the minifig. Enjoy!
About this creation
Hey, Jason pulled off using the same diorama twice, why not me? X)
The diver scared out of his wits by yet another mech.
Okay, here's some pics of just the mech because the flamethrower doesn't work as well underwater.
Stats:
Name: 'Ember' Anti-Personnel/Anti-Vehicle Mech
Make: Infernotech Engineering
Armaments: *Takes a deep breath* One double barreled flamethrower (arm mounted), one quad repeater cannon (arm mounted), two pair heavy machine guns (next to cockpit), eight land to land anti-vehicle missiles (shoulder mount), six land to air missiles (shoulder mount), two tactical nukes (shoulder mount), and two flip-up anti-vehicle missiles (front of cockpit). (whew!)
The mech in all its glory. I tried to capture the classic look similar to Battletech mechs, and I think this turned out well.
Closeup of the flamethrower arm, because no orange mech with a name like Ember can not have a flamethrower.
The main napalm tank.
The quad cannon. Not quite as sensational as my Peril-Class mech's chaingun, but I do like the ammo feed a lot.
Leg detail, including toes and a blast shield to protect the knee joints.
Body shot, showing off the Ember's impressive array of missiles and machine guns.
The front missiles flip up to fire, and flip down to look like fangs when in storage.
Back view, with a little more greeblies than I normally use for the back.
Detail on some cooling vents and... a pay phone?
The pilot at the controls, which are numerous and difficult to understand, but can be mastered in only a few months training.
Thanks for viewing, let me know what you think!

Awesome Mech! |

awesome mech like the flamethrower but why does it need a flamethrower if it goes underwater and your ammo feed is pretty cool anyway 10/10 |

I like how you didn't even bother extending the diorama to fit the Mech onto it. I've rearely seen it done and it added a little something to this work of art...Super awesome! |

I think the feet pale in comparison to the rest of the mech, but the colors are nice and I like the armament. 4 points. |

Mmm, nice and big. That IS what she said, Mr. Bones! Anyway, I like the colors here. I like them so much I give you 4 PTS. Good work. |

Good design and colors, nothing too different here though. Also, larger pics would have been nicer so I don't have to click on each photo to see it. As it is, 3 solid points for this mech. |

Nice mecha here. I love the flamethrower. It's inspired. The missile array is very impressive, though I think you should replace the flip up missiles with flip up machine guns. Looks great, and I'll be sure to keep my infantry to a distance from it. |

You are gifted at making mechs. Gifted. I love this guy, especially all the orange coloration, you must have a lot of legos. I know I only have about fifty orange pieces. Great job, and good luck! ~Waff |

Very good, I have a special place in my heart for Orange mechs, my first creation here was one. Im going to stretch for you to have a four. The Star wars guns were lazy though, I didnt like that, but the array of Weapons and the cool colors gain you another point. Congrats |
