I'm going to have to apologize for this one. Due to some real life problems that resulted in a 2-week loss of computer access, this is a sorrowfully last-minute entry with horrible pics.
About this creation
So...yeah. Think of this as 'Retro-Christophsis LEGO Engineering'.
Anyways, the category for round 3 was video games. I decided to think outside the box. Literally. I've done the most popular Star Wars game (okay, maybe not as good as KOTOR or EAW, but statistics are statistics) ever on it's most popular console: Battlefront II as seen on the Playstation 2. Ironically, I don't even have a PS2. I got the Xbox for it's higher graphics capability and four-player support. But, to make a long story short, I acquired an original PS2 for FREE! (say it with a high-pitched voice, "Free!") and decided to use it instead of the Xbox because of the less-organic shape that translates quite well into LEGO. On the TV side of things, everthing is scaled to the minifigs inside. I decided to have the user play as my favorite character, Darth Maul. I included the entire HUD: Mini-map (it's an Aquaraiders really-functional compass), health meters for the player and the opponent (Obi-Wan, in this case), Hero bar, weapons meters, score meters (don't ask me how a team has 1,200 troops; the tile just looked good. Besides, in the PC version, there is a mode that allows both teams to spawn 2,000 troops), GNK droid, Bacta and Ammo packs, and a Command post in the background. The characters are Maul, Obi-Wan, Han, Anakin/Ep. 3 Vader, and (yes, I'm addicted to him) chrome Darth Vader.
On the console side of things, everything is scaled to the SNOT lettering on the PS2. I believe this would make the TV around the 17" size in real life. I used a condensed form of 2:5 ratio SNOT lettering to write 'PS2' on the console. The console can hold a 'disk' (a 3-wide smooth gear) and has power input, RCA cable output, and Ethernet cable i/o; (theres also an RCA input on the back of the TV) complete with a commonly-ignored yellow warning label. I also included the rarely-used blue plastic stand for completion's sake. I has planned to print out a label for the game case, but didn't get the chance. If you go allllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to the BOTTOM of the page, you can see the system in 'action'.
Enjoy the MOC!

dude, you have really made my day! this is my favorite part of BF2!!! although when I'm on heros I am usually Aayla Secura (what?! she has 2 blades!! Sue me for likeing her!), and when I am on villains, Jango/Boba all the way! too bad jango doesn't have his dual pistols... but anyway really nice moc quite enginuitive with the HUD and the "actual" system! in that mode though, it is shown as a normal health bar. |

Very nice Brickdocter, this is a fantastic entry and I'm sure the judges will like it! I think that the actual scene is a bit strange though, why are there no troops and why are Anakin, Han and Vader there? |
