A space pirate heist featuring my siggy, The Delatron 3000
About this creation
Somewhere in a disreputable part of space -
“Some criminals are bad, some are mad. But the Delatron? He’s both and then some. How else do you explain robbing a police funds transfer and taking out the S.P.E.A.R. team assigned to guard it? That kind of thing brings a lot of heat down on a pirate band, makes life out in the seven systems kind of exciting. If you like that kind of excitement….
See, you know some planets on the outskirts of the systems don’t trust for the authorities to handle their funds? Seems being light years from your banker makes you twitchy. So a lot of transactions still happen with cash or valuables – precious elements and the like. The police in them systems still got to get paid, so they ship valuable cargo out once in a while, real secret like with a discreet guard of badass S.P.E.A.R shooters to keep an eye on proceedings. Too bad somebody let the Delatron in on the secret.
Seems he waited for the goods to be brought out for loading and launched a full-scale massacre. It was a small mining outpost on some backwater planet in the Kon-follo cluster, minimal security meant to keep out locals. Instead, the shooters and a K-9 ‘bot were facing a lot of mean hombres.
Delatron has a lot of non-humans on his crew. You understand, right? Gets ‘em riled up that the space police are almost entirely human then sets them loose. Lots of Orcians do most of his dirty work.
His first mate is also his lady – Carolina Tempestua. She’s a fiery one and no mistake.
The quiet greenskin known as Pad is a real mystery. Some say he’s an exiled alien prince, some say he’s a war criminal hiding from justice. Whichever, he’s a vicious fighter and a hard drinker.
The Aquatanian Mattuuling was the other one involved in the heist that day. Tech specialist and inveterate gambler like a lot of the fishies. What? You shouldn’t call them that?
I hear the rest of his crew is humanoid or bot. Bird, the co-pilot, he’s an angry sort, would start a fight in a locker.
What’s that? How do I know so much about them? Well, you ask a lot of questions stranger, why do you care?
I'm not building anything this big again for a while. The build was fun (tried some different SNOT bits and greebling) but I realised i've not got the set-up to photograph 48x48 studs to my adequate satisfaction. Which is a real pain when you've spent a few of your limited night's building time on the various elements. I'll follow up with some better-lit photos of the various bits and factions, but my next builds will be much smaller scale (and hopefully better lit and shot).
Most of the weaponry is from my prize for placing second in the Brickarms 'Lets go to the movies' contest. A big thanks to Will Chapman and the Enigma that is Badger for my generous prize.
Oh, and there will be more Delatron coming soon, in various guises. He spans space and time and all forms of comedy violence, and I only want one sig-fig anyway.
Hey, this is lookin' good! And I'm glad to see that you're doing well at Brickarms as well. I haven't built anything featuring BA's for a while, so I've mostly been hangin' here. Can't wait for more adventures! (Oh, I just remembered; you should select the "Large" option when uploading, because it's a pain to have to enlarge each picture.)
This, sir, is most impressive! I'm loving the scenery here and everything else associated with the build. My favorite part would have to be your usage of wheel well parts on the walkway. Also, the commentary is very humorous and enjoyable. Excellent job!
