For the FBTB Alternate Separatist Shuttle Contest.
About this creation
As said above, this MOC is for FBTB's Alternate Separatist Shuttle Contest, or... @$$ for short. The big requirement for the contest was to use a windscreen of any kind, as the set lacks one. After a rough draft of sorts, I settled for this, the Propodite Transport Shuttle.
The name "Propodite" comes from the classification of the fiddler crab's larger claw, or propodus. The wing of the ship essentially mimics this trait.
Armed with a single laser cannon, this ship is anything but lethal. Overall, it wasn't hot on the Neimoidian market.
Four light engines enable the shuttle to reach modest speeds, and it is hyperdrive compatible.
The three dark bley studs represent the repulsorlifts that aid in takeoff.
Landing gear appear in strategically sensible but odd places.
The cockpit has escape pod capabilities, detaching from the main wing. Sporting no weapons at all, escaping enemy forces is a matter of maneuverability.
And the clincher: it seats not one, but TWO passengers uncomfortably. Clearly a case of false advertising.
"Ugh, I never knew a Neimoidian could get so rancid in two days!"
"Watch your mouth! I've just been away from the spa too long, there are side effects if I don't go there daily!"
As a bonus, here's the wing mechanisms. Pretty simplistic, to be honest.
And as a BONUS bonus, here's the rough draft for all to wince at. Thought it was great at the time, then I looked a bit closer.
