Ambush
My entry for the "C.O.P. VS U.N.E. battle-diorama Contest," against Matt The Backward One.
About this creation
The Coalition colony planet of Umalis was the place for study of foreign species and weapons, mostly the ones of barbarians and Earth humans.
After losing contact with a fleet containing several experimental weapons, the U.N.E. immediately sent several spies to search the planet. The spies found out that most of the weapons were picked apart and that some had been copied, as well as that it all had been based in the city Handelstun.
A task force of U.N.E. troopers and light vehicles were sent to retrieve the weapons and destroy the main research facility, but met unexpectively hard resistance from the Coalition forces stationed there. The local government ordered an evacuation of Handelstun and it was attacked with artillery, yet most Earth troops had managed to hide and shield themselves from the devastating barrage.
The squads who could regroup, did, and most caught the advancing Coalition legion by suprise.

This midnette decipts three Coalition troopers who were setting up a defensive position in the bombed-out city.
One of them was deploying a Plasmx-turret, but, relying on his squadmates' protection, got shot in the back by a U.N.E. trooper that hid on the second floor of a storage building.

The build's dimensions are 18X18 studs+ overhang, I still haven't checked the height.
It's a mix of SNOT and regular building, and I tried my best to keep it looking like a Coalition city.

Ambush, street overview
Don't complain about the road width. It's for bikes and that sort of stuff.

Ambush, sniper position 1
I myself like the little cover-thingy the sniper has.

Ambush, sniper position 2
Another view of the position. Sorry for the blurriness.

Ambush, view of entrance
Here's a view of the entrance area. As you may see, the Sergeant has a searchlight attached to his Plasmx rifle.

Ambush, UNE position
The UNE trooper had made his position in an office- the building's owner had not sent his letter before he was evacuated.

Ambush, shot soldier
Unlucky guy got a big exit wound. Well, also a bit lucky 'cause the grenade didn't blow up...

Ambush, building overview
Overview of the building facade. See the repeating pattern on the wall?

Ambush, top view
Ending with a birds'-eye view.

'Aint got many things more things to say about the MOC itself, but I gotta thank Flickr for making the pictures much clearer.

Any form of critisism is appreciated.

Well Anders, you did a great job with this in many respects, so it's unfortunate that I have to say I've given my vote to Matt. It was his action that did it for me, honestly. Meanwhile, on your build, I think you did an excellent job with the set. I like the wall design you mentioned, and the overall look is very clean. A bit more action between the two parties and I think you would have had him. Nevertheless, some good work and another close match.

Quoting Finn C-Q I would think the U.N.E. guy would have backup.
Yeah, but I didn't have enough bodies, and the scene was small, so I didn't really bother to pay for any more PM sets.
Quoting danny morgan Nice, I like it, but its not really a battle, just a UNE guy sniping an unsuspecting COP guy. Also, there wasn't a proper storyline, like why the COP were there, why the UNE were there, what they were here for, etc. If u check my entry out, you'll see that I included more battle action, and i started with a decent storyline.
I kind of forgot about the storyline stuff... My focus was on simply making a decent midnette. EDIT: Added a backstory.
Quoting Steven Hoey Awesome! The thing that threw the grenade at the the unlucky guy is a Grunt right? If it is, I haven't seen that way of making a Grunt before.
I think you've got 23rd Century confused with Halo, 'cause that's a plasma-firing turret. The grenade was strapped to a belt, but followed the bullet as it was in the bullets' path.
