here is my entry into the C.O.P. VS U.N.E. Diorama mocoff. my opponent is Ultramarine Skiver. the category is a battle scene diorama between the C.O.P. and the U.N.E..
About this creation
So here's the storyline: On a war forsaken planet, somewhere towards the outskirts of the Coalition's realm, a battle to take the planet was commencing, against the Unions of Earth. The planet had very rich resources that could be used to power Coalition battle cruisers.
The U.N.E. just wanted to stop the C.O.P. from taking the resources, until they could develop technology that could run on the resource.
This scene shows a Coalition 'Warlock' Command Tank, holding out behind a ruined building. The tank has an array of satellite and communication equipment on it. The tank is being used to coordinate a series of airstrikes on key U.N.E. bases and outposts. The tank is guarded by a squad of C.O.P. soldiers. The U.N.E. must have located the tank, because just before the airstrikes were going to be launched, a team of U.N.E. paratroopers dropped down, and closed in on the tank. Now the C.O.P. squad is doing all they can to defend their objective, until the C.O.P. airstrikes end. They are holding out.
Those flames at the front are the remnants of a U.N.E. napalm...
Sgt. Hunter of the Coalition dives heroically from behind a pillar, nailing a U.N.E. paratrooper in the chest...
Top view of the whole dio...
The C.O.P. machine gunner...
The C.O.P. Warlock Tank
Evil U.N.E. dood!
Some sort of a water boiler thingy...
One of those classic knife scenes that u get in heaps of action movies. Here the UNE paratrooper is trying to stab a COP mechanic, while the mechanic holds him off with a wrench.
A COP soldier wielding a pair of chain swords comes to the rescue!
A view of the whole diorama without minifigures or tank.
Some separate pics of the Warlock tank (seeing as I'll probably never get round to posting a page for it)
The Warlock has a twinlinked flame thrower on each side
I guess this might be awkward to comment so late, but this is really cool! I liked the sense of battle you created with all the ruined buildings an figs. I especially enjoyed that tank, also. Nice stuff!
Geese, this was another difficult decision! Some really nice work, Danny. Excellent job on the tank and the damaged walls. I like the placement of the flames for the composition as well, drawing the eye away from the dominant tank and helping to move the viewer around to the other side of the creation. But in the end, I'm going to have to go with your opponent. He had a more complex build, with great execution. Both of you had good story concepts, I thought. Anyway, not a win, but a very close contest, and a great job on the entry.
