LL-8 classic space bomber
I think it's about time I posted something in the classic space theme.
About this creation
This ship that looks like a cross between classic space lego, Slave I and a B-wing was actually mainly inspired by the S-250 Chela-class starfighter from KOTOR. But not too much, obviously.

Head-on shot. It's a fairly large ship for a one-man fighter. The bulk of the LL-8's body consists of ammo storage, fuel and armour (deflector shield generators).

Some stats:
* Scale: minifig
* Height: 35 metres
* Crew: one
* Armour: heavy
* Sensors: special view finder in front of cockpit to lock on ground-based targets, radar, multiple-antennae array
* Propulsion: two medium sized TeraThrusters, six secundary thrusters, 14 steering thrusters
* Weapons: Two double turbolasers, two small ion cannons, two boson torpedo launchers

Backside shot with engines and greebles.

Landing gear in and out.

Assorted greebles, with the main deflector shield generator in the middle.

Side shot

An LL-8 on the ground with its maintenance crew.

I can't seem to find the bosons. Can you hand me the LHC pliers?

Construction of the engines.

I must agree that the back is the true masterpiece of the model; however, I'm not too partial to the front of the model, but that is just my opinion. The engines look absolutely fantastic--I love the way you put together those odd parts. Great work!

Good job with the classic style and the greebles are stunning. But there is a definite Slave 1 vibe.

:P Very nice, man. Truly specracular. You have made the closest thing I've ever seen to a Star Wars "Sun Crusher". The shapes about the same. well done.

Hello all! Thanks for the nice comments, they are really appreciated. In the meantime, I've been working on some more classic space stuff (which are a bit more classic and less greeblish, sorry about that). Guess I'll be posting them soon. Need to take some decent pics first.

This thing is greeblicious!!! The overall shape is somewhat reminiscent of the Fal'Cie from Final Fantasy XIII. I love the neo-classic look as Lee said...and absolute pleasure to watch her leave. :-) Great work!

Great mash-up! Without even reading your commentary, I thought,'That looks like a Classic Space Slave I.' It even looks like a Classic Space Shuttle when it's in the landing position. That is some crazy greebling on the back! Wow, just a cool build!~H

Wonderful detail and overall finish to this ship. The 'clasic' look caught my eye and it is great to know, some where out there, the Clasic Spacemen are still forging forth into the unknown.

You can't just make a blue ship with some yellow and call it "Classic Space"! It has to be covered in studs, be blocky in form, and be overall UGLY! How dare you call this that? You give Classic Space a good name! Well, I'm telling you: WE WON'T HAVE ANY OF THAT! The nerve of some people, creating beautiful, detailed ships...

What a beast! The thumbnail fooled me, this one is much bigger and much more complex than I thought. This is what a bomber should be about: massive bulky and heavy. Nice retro touch combined with your skills: great job sir!

Somehow, this crossover between Classic Space and Star Wars works for me. It might be the greebles, but then again, it could be the overall shape. Nah, it's the figs! Honestly, at first I thought maybe it was over-greebled, but a ship of this sort calls for it because of its flight attitude, etc. Using the barrels as you did was perfect.
