About this creation
Well, my last speeder bike got mixed reviews, so hopefully this new MOC means redemption for me. I was really annoyed with the speeder LEGO made - big, bulky, and nothing like the streamlined vehicle from Empire Strikes Back*, Return of the Jedi, Attack of the Clones*, and Revenge of the Sith. I'm also especially proud of the photos- I added the white background yet kept the shadow, while editing out the support that held up the front to prevent the model from tipping over. I've actually got two of them, and plan to use them in a future MOC.
*74-Zs were white in Empire, and were planned but didn't make it through post production in Clones.
Why choose Legoarts?
Armament

Unlike our official LEGO joke of a 'competitor', which doesn't even have a weapon, our 74-Z has an accurately sized and placed blaster cannon, perfect for mowing down rebellious dissidents!
Propulsion

With adjustable steering vanes, movie-accurate air intake, and a low profile thruster, our speeder includes everything needed for high speed pursuit.
Controls

Never lose control again! From the fully poseable foot pedals to the moveable control rods, we have plenty of big shiny buttons for you to fiddle with!
Capacity

With it's accurately placed pack arrayed out of the thrust stream, our bike includes space for datapads, thermal detonators, and more.
Size

With a smaller profile on all sides than it's official LEGO competitor, our bike delivers greater agility and speed, along with an increased chance of avoiding enemy fire.
Detail

Detail reigns king in all of Legoart's products. From the micro-adjustable blaster cannon to the natural leg positioning of the rider, no one beats Legoarts in a combination of scale and detail.
More PIcs:
By the way, I've now redone one of my previous MOCs with the new natural-seating saddle. Let the speculation begin....

Very well done! I also hated the official ones and made a version of this, if you care to look. Keep up the great work. |

This is very nice! Looks perfect, a thousand times better than the original ones. I'm going to have a go at a 74-Z myself, but I'd have to make one so the figure doesn't have to be taken apart. Would you mind if I used the back design? (I'll give you credit, of course) |

@Brickdoctor So, the rubberband is inside the holes that join it to the legs? Sounds like tedious work, but it looks rather natural, shame it's limited (from what I understood from your description, I may be wrong) to being on a speeder bike, could be useful for clumsy scenes.
So far I've used it on every saddle-equipped MOC, from 74-Zs and BARCs to my new AT-RT. But It can be used anywhere as long as you've got a rod to rubberband the legs to. In vignettes, you're pretty much confined to against walls and on top of scrap piles. If your base is deep enough, you could always just use hinges to anchor the legs onto the base without connecting them together. |

What's your record on SW Battlefront 1? I got it the other day and my record is 98 kills, 2 deaths, and 7 captures :D
Good day my mon.
Uh-... I don't have BF1, but in BF2 my record is 258 kills and 0 deaths (without invincibility). Little secret - play the training mission on Geonosis, and instead of completing the objectives, just run around and kill droids. Both teams receive unlimited reinforcements, and because the level's designed for newbies, no one will gang up on you. I basically just broke 250 before getting bored and finishing the level. |

as usual, Brickdocter does it again! man I wish I had your eniginuity!(spelling, sorry)But alas, I'm only semi-good at bionicle mocs, which I have never posted, or well anything for that matter... anyway, very accurate and I agree with Moodswim, need horizontal handlebars. |

Wow, this looks way better than the one that lego made, it looks exactly like the ones in the movies. I think the handles were great, although I see the other moodswim's point. The laser cannon is in about the right spot too, I think. ~Waff |

In response to Moodswim, all you need to do to "fix" the handles, is get those black skeleton arms, the draw back is you'll loose the curve, which I believe was in the movie version. |

Very nicely done! I like the pack on the rear. The only thing I might redo would be the handle grips, since the rider's hands are horizontal in the movie. Other than that I like it. |

I am guessing those legs involve minifig hands in some way, right?
Nope. :P I used a small LEGO rubber band in white threaded through the holes and topmost stud receptacle in the legs, then looped around a lightsaber hilt. |
